2A Game Preview: East Wilkes at Starmount
Starmount will be hosting East Wilkes in a huge Mountain Valley 2A/3A/4A Conference game.
Starmount looks super balanced in the passing and rushing attacks… crazy impressive stats!! EW will have their hands full guarding the entire field and keeping Deuce in check. Alleghany was able to defend well someway. EW has to watch film and follow suit!!
With all due respect, and I very well could be wrong. Im sure Walker is all too familiar with Chipmans play calling and will have the kids ready. However, execution is out of coaches hands.
Wow can u say biased refs! 8 holding calls on EW on one possession and a TD called back 
not feeling the playcalling at all.. all the speed and running up the middle at goal line 4 and 5 times… and none to the wide side at all with that speed… and getting stuffed all night up the middle!!!
Great defensive game plan Rams… poor offensive play calling for EW.. Rams came to play especially late..
Congratz Ramz! Both teams played some D! Rams D was Lights Out! Cardinals offensive playcalling was lackluster as they ran to the strength right up the middle all night and seemed to waste downs.. the rams were very tough up the middle!… The goal line stand for the rams was a sign of EW tryin to smash up the middle to the strength of that times in a row.. no pitches at all to the wide side of the field to even try to get their speed out there.. i just didnt get it at all..again great D Rams! Great Effort Cards!
This one lived up to its billing in its result …. Great defensive job by two really good 2A teams. The special teams execution won the game for the Rams.
Simmons was right on the money again with the prediction. He had Starmount by 5.
Deana also mentioned the importance of special teams and that was the play of the game.
The player that I mentioned(Adams) with speed is the one who blocked the punt and also took down Nash on a key play in the 4th. He didn't play against Alleghany and it made a difference

Congrats Starmount. Awesome defensive game by both teams. Blocked punt determined the game. Penalties was ridiculous, seemed like every time we got a good positive play to change the momentum the hankies come flying. Awesome goal line stand by the rams. Still scratching my head about the play calling on those 4 downs INSIDE the 5, actually all game. Either way, this game lived up to the hype, best of luck remainder of the season.
Off the top of my head, Starmount had around 125 yards or so (75 rush/45 pass) while East had around 154 rush by my count.
I’m betting Propst probably had 20+ tackles. Defensive stats should be off the charts.

The Propst Kid is an absolute Stud for sure! Tons of tackles for loss.. Great anticipation skills…in reading the play and stopping it dead in it’s tracks! Not sure if he was All State before the season started…but im sure he will be by Seasons End!
He has such a quick burst when he sees his line. Hits hard too. Amazing player and just a Jr.
