ECC Week 10

This is the most important week in the ECC ... It’s conference championship week.

JK @ Goldsboro - I expect the Tigers to keep up this losing streak somewhere around the 42-24 margin.

ED @ Midway - ED should take a close one here 34-31

CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
WRH vs. Clinton - Feels like this one started gaining hype in May (deservedly so). Eastern final type of game and atmosphere. Everyone knows this game could honestly go either way and it’s truly a toss up. I’ll take the Dark Horses by 2 ... 29-27

JK is definitely headed for a 0 fer in conference which is a damn shame. Once again the team has to do a lot of soul searching over the off season. And to be honest I hope some of the kids don’t show up next year if they aren’t gonna take it anymore seriously.

Going against the grain a bit here...

JK in a tight one.

ED squeaks by Midway.

Wallace vs Clinton is a toss up. I’ll take the home team. Dogs by 3.

Jk loses Again

Midway/ED too close to call

Clinton comes out with a W, not gonna speculate by how many, 1 is all it takes.

Goldsboro,ED,WRH. Just spoke with a friend that missed midway game cause of hip replacement. He watched Friday's game 3 or 4 times and said that this year's team reminds him of 94 team. He thought this team is poised to make a deep run for #8. Now remember WRH lost that showdown in regular season in 94 and won playoff game later. Dogs were really focused against midway.

We will try to make it a little competitive. Sounds like we don’t have a chance. Maybe we can give y’all a little better game than Midway did.

Nah, I don't mean it that way. I do think the dogs will play great tho. I've seen the Darkhorses come together over at NS-J. Big and strong and a RB that can tote the mail. If Clinton wins, they will have earned it

I remember that year well. Hate to say it but imho WRH only beat Clinton in the playoffs that year because the Horses’ star running back was injured in the previous round. (Playing in garbage time up big for some reason) Clinton blew Wallace out at the Dog Pound with him running the ball in the reg season. (30+ points? Can’t remember)

They sputtered vs a nasty WRH defense without him. Might have been a shutout ..like 10-0 or something.

Time flies!

Juan Williams still regarded as one of the fastest Clinton players.....Clinton won the regular season matchup 28-9 lost in the playoff game 10-0 i think

Midway over East Duplin
Goldsboro over James Kenan

My gut wants to say Clinton over Wallace-Rose Hill but I genuinely don't know. WRH can't be overlooked for that massive second half they put on at Midway. Plus it's a home game for them and the atmosphere should be electric. Toss up for me.

The updated playoff projections just came out. A loss to Goldsboro likely will take JK out of the projected “in” as a 15 seed. We do not deserve to be in playoffs.

Juan Williams was probably one of the best running backs Clinton has had and that is saying a lot.
Juan was good but not the best. He was the fastest but he didn’t have the power. Leonard Henry, Jarius McPhail, Fuzzy Lee, LC Stevens , Willie Parker, Herbert Dixon, Nicholas Cooper and Rhyeem Skinner we’re better backs and overall football player; but Juan was fast, I think the fastest.

I don't think he was faster than Willie Parker but he was probably quicker. Juan had great feet and could cut on a dime. LC was the perfect compliment to him too. In '95, Juan going down was a big deal. There's no doubt that his absence made a big difference. We were playing very good football by the time we matched up for the second time, much better than the first. But it's hard to say whether or not him playing would have changed the winner. It's crazy how many great backs have come through Clinton. Dixon may be the most underrated of them all. He was a bully when he ran the ball and had good speed to go with it. You guys have had some HORSES over the years. Literally, LOL.
