What a interesting season it has been. As we close the regular season we have one thoroughbred contender heading into the playoffs, some teams looking to crash the party and my piss poor Tigers will be sitting on the couch. So let’s suit up one more time to close out the year.

JK vs. WRH - oh how different this game looks than it did 2 weeks ago. WRH will still win the game but I do think JK will put up a small fight. WRH has a ton to lose in this game and that program is about as desperate for a win as they have been in the last 15 years. JK is playing with house money and nothing to lose, this is our super bowl. A JK win and we may have a chance at getting in playoffs. WRH is trying to hold on to a 8 or 9 seed. A WRH loss would be more shocking than the L to ED.

ED vs. Goldsboro - ED thanks for beating WRH. Goldsboro same old same old with the athletes they have they can beat anyone. ED with a hangover L.

Clinton vs. Midway - Clinton getting into playoff form will tee off on a Midway team that is crashing back to earth. Clinton locks up the 1 seed. Clinton showed mercy on JK (we appreciate that). I feel like they won’t do Midway that favor.

You don’t get a ring at the end of the season for playing two powerhouses. You don’t see Alabama doing this. WRH was dumb for scheduling those games. It has come back to haunt them.

Technically WRH is a team that is looking to crash the party this season. WRH has amazing history has won all the championships had all the players the list goes on and on but with where that program is sitting today IMO they are no longer a favorite in the East.

I don't see it that way. Come back to haunt? We were not injured in those games. It really doesn't matter who you play in early rds if your good enough. As fans,Just wish we didn't have to travel every game. Hopefully we get 7,8 seed and if we win 1or 2.

You may not have been injured in those games but the players have been put through a grueling regular season and it wears on them. They aren’t full grown men, it takes a toll on a body running that stretch y’all did. I get it playing tough teams will prepare you for playoffs there is no arguing that but at some point you gotta work smarter not harder.

They aren’t full grown men, it takes a toll on a body running that stretch y’all did. I get it playing tough teams will prepare you for playoffs there is no arguing that but at some point you gotta work smarter not harder.

More injuries than I ever remember. Definately has taken it's toll. It makes fans look at other things but I'm always confident that Kevin got this. Kids got to get exited and the dogs will make a run. I think it's possible

Unfortunately I agree. We have enough talent that could go on a run, but at the same time we haven’t been playing well lately so we could be lucky to even make it to the 3rd round. It’s all up to the kids now because it’s put up or shut up. Survive and advance.

I know,but you know how some of those darkhorses are. 34 might be threatening to quit on preps.

JV has struggled mostly because there are like 10 sophomores on Varsity. Middle school is undefeated. Cupboard not full, but certainly not bare. No way to speculate on coach Johnson’s intentions but if I had to guess, he is trying to build his own legacy at Clinton. He has the passion and knowledge to do it, and is gaining more and more support from the community which each and every win.


* I only said the last part in reference to those who lived and died with the likes of the legend Coach Bob Lewis. They’ve had a hard time accepting anything different. But it’s hard not to pull for Johnson, he is such a great person and coach. There starting to come around now that they realize you can win other ways than running just out of the T lol.

I agree with you Old Dogg. I know the bulldogs are legit. You guys are going thru what we went thru. I don't make any excuses about NE. We lost 3 games straight and now everyone has written us off just like many are writing you guys off, including some of your own. That team that played WF earlier in the yr can compete with any 2a team in the east. Wrh doesn't get any sympathy from me, you guys have been at the top and are one of the most successful programs in Nc. People just love it when a program like yours has a few bad games. I can tell you this Old Dogg. I spoke with coach for about an hour Friday night after our game against FF. We had a good conversation about the upcoming playoffs and our future here at NE. Coach said we will be at 100% heading into the playoffs and that he's looking forward to getting to play the teams from down south. After speaking with him I feel very good about our chances of going back to Raleigh or wherever. I was also floored with excitement about who will be joining our team next season. Things like this just don't happen at the 2a level, we've been blessed.

I agree. I remember one year a coach at Whiteville wanted to play Richmond County and was going to until i talked him out of it telling him we would like to finish the season with a healthy team. A 2A team just cant compete against a 4A team no matter what the score is.Most all 2A teams go both ways but not 4A. Tell me that won't take a toll on a kid.

It's definately tough. Playing WF and Havelock didn't injure our dogs. But the high teams get from competing at that level could have affected us when injuries started happening

WRH have given there fans exciting games close to every week. I like to try to pick at there loses, but I admire there program for there non conference schedule, especially knowing they traditionally have a very good conference.

WRH had 4 loses, and still has as good a chance or in my opinion better than anyone to represent the east 2a. So they miss out on a home playoff game.
