If there's one assistant coach in the nation that I would be willing to give a 7 figure salary too, it might be him.

Special Team Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.

I know this is wishful thinking and will never happen, but his recruiting prowess is worth a lot of money.

After being a HC, I truly believe is ego would forever prevent him from being an assistant.

He can do better than ULL as an assistant. Now if MH were to leave.....another story.

I don't blame him. I said he'd have to tell Haden "I'm the HC or not here at all next year" if he wanted to have any real chance at the job. Even with that, he probably still didn't have any real chance at the job.

How sweet would that be, USC hires Sarkesian and Ogre ends up at Washington, then Ed takes his team and dismantles the Trojans. I'd love to see it.

I just can't say that not hiring Ed Orgeron as your head coach is stupid. I think they made the right move. USC will have some great options.

Move Sallach to administration and make Orgeron Special Teams Coordinator and TE coach. Let him coordinate recruiting too.

I`m not talking about who they didn`t hire but who they did hire. They could have done better.

He'll be someone's HC and soon.

At the very least he would end up a high paid DC somewhere like Texas.

He deserves a HC job somewhere and somewhere significant. He seems to be truly

remorseful for the way he has treated players and boosters in the past and has grown up. No one will out work that guy.

He'll be the HC at some mid-level schools somewhere within a month. His record with recruiting, player connections, and success in his limited term at USC will entice someone to offer him a job soon. I'm sure he's already fielded several offers as an assistant, but why would he want to return to that when he's practically certain to land a HC job somewhere and show what he can do?

I thought it was Bush League of him

to leave before the bowl game and leave the players/team hanging. Totally understand if he is pissed that he didn't get his opportunity in the future and would understand if he wanted to leave after the year is over. But to preach about how much he loves the players then leaves them before their bowl game is wrong IMO.

He had to make a decision for himself.

Had he stayed at USC through the bowl game other opportunities for him would have been lost. Teams looking for a coach aren't hindered by waiting for bowl season to end. And there is no way USC could let him stay and coach the team if he is openly looking for another job. Plus who would have been the coach? Him or Sark?

Orgeron brought Frank Wilson (i think that is his name) to olemiss. Mullen hired Frank Wilson from USM. Tenn. hired Kiffin who hired Orgeron. While Frank Wilson was being paid by us to coach and recruit, he was running around recruiting for tenn. While I am sure Kiffin was the mastermind of that little plot, I'm sure orgeron was complicit considering Wilson was his boy. Mullen found out and supposedly took wilson's phone and car keys from him leaving him stranded. I doubt Mullen will be hiring Orgeron.

and show what he can do?

The guy already showed what he could do at Ole Miss and it wasn't pretty, to say the least. I get that he managed to right the ship at USC this year, but I'm not convinced the guy has what it takes to build his own program and be a successful head coach long term. Maybe someone will give him another chance.
