I think there is some merit to that statement, but what job would be open next year that Mullen would leave State for? A lot of the big positions made coaching changes this past season. Aside from someone high profile being let go for F'ing up his situation (Petrino), I cant really think of another program who would be in the market for a coach next season.
Hopefully ole Scotty put a non-compete clause in his contract.
No head coach has been poached among SEC teams in a decade.
It's always been frowned on to poach a coach from your own conference. But that doesn't stop if from happening. Just because it hasn't happened in the SEC in a decade doesn't mean it won't. But as I've said before, another school hiring Mullen is the least of my worries. If it happens, it means he's won a lot of games at MSU and we'll be a very attractive job for a lot of good candidates.
I've been concerned about that for a while now. We have got to start getting more competitive in our assistant coaches' salaries.What should scare you is a replay of 2010 - teams come in and loot the assistant pool.
