I actually like Thursday night games in general (especially more when I was a student). I remember the last Thanksgiving night Egg Bowl - Jackie's last one. Drunker and Colder than hell. Good times. Not good football.
is if we somehow managed to get the Arkansas game moved to early in the season and have that Saturday off or play Alcorn or something. I think one of the reasons we struggle so bad with Arkansas is that it is sandwiched between Alabama and Ole Miss in the schedule, our two biggest emotional games of the season. Alabama did it right this year, throwing Chattanooga in there between LSU and Auburn, especially with Auburn on Friday giving them a short week.
Honestly, I think that it's better for both teams to have it on Saturday. I live in Bham and ALL of the AL and AU fans are so mad about the Iron Bowl being on Friday. Several have asked if I liked the Egg Bowl being on Friday. I personally hated it. The only good spot is that it made the game more relevant since it was the only game on. Since every game is on TV now anyway, I see no reason to inconvenience our fans. I like it on Saturday.
atleast as far back as '95 or '96. Probably ever since Arkansas came into the conference, since LSU was moved to the beginning of the schedule at about that same time. Im sure it would take the conference to change it. How often and for what reasons changes like that are made?
