Arkansas wants all the guards apparently. Some guys won't be getting the minutes they hope for if all stay committed.

This is all about the $$$. It will be very interesting to see how that works. There is a lot of quickness in that group. I am not sure they are care if they can defend.

All these recruits made me curious about Arkansas NIL situation. This is what I found after a quick search:

The ninth-ranked Arkansas men’s basketball team went to a food science facility in the fall to make chili through team-wide NIL deals with the North American food company Conagra Brands. All 15 players on the team were involved in the partnership.

The tomato product brand Hunt’s and the canned tomato and chili brand Ro-Tel, which are both owned by Conagra Brands, were sponsors of the partnership. Each player wore an apron featuring the two brands’ names and logos.

In addition to Walmart, the headquarters for J.B. Hunt and Tyson Foods are based in Northwest Arkansas, which means that many of those companies’ suppliers also have offices in the area.

“You start going through the list and we’ve got all of these companies that are within 10 to 20 miles of our campus,” Arkansas Senior Associate Athletics Director for Athlete Brand Development and Inclusive Excellence Terry Prentice said in a phone interview.

Be very interesting to see what the coaches get out of Ellis and Withers that they didn't give here. Good luck to them..

Might not be a popular opinion or take but, I was never sold on Ellis. Crazy streaky (40% FG%) and played zero defense. Clock management in crunch time was also suspect. Honestly, I think he just stood out from an otherwise awful roster.

Not at all sad that he’s gone. Now if we could just turn the page on some others…

It's going to be interesting to see how they divide up the minutes and shots if that roster holds. Some sacrificing is gonna need to happen, and in the modern era that's a tough sell.

I agree, I'm not sure how they sold some of them on coming there knowing what the competition for minutes was going to be. $$$$$$$ talks I guess..

Musselman and crew better save a little bit of that NIL money to buy some extra basketballs.

Arkansas Fansided publication reacting negatively to Ellis transfer - saying that he isn’t a good fit. They talk about his 120 turnovers last year comparing his terrible handle to the way an 10year old kid takes care of his bike - lol. And that paired with the fact that he’s a low percentage high volume shot taker - that makes for a troubling combination. 😳

The thing that stood out to me were his emotions. IMO he was very immature like many on the roster. Immature in his emotions and actions. He would take shots because he wanted to be the hero. Then he would immediately pout if it didn’t go in. It was all very visible. Then he refused to play defense especially if things were going his way offensively. He wasn’t a leader

He is a legit NBA talent skill wise but until he matures he is like a a ton of kids that never reach their full potential. Years mature you hopefully that happens for him.

How in the world is him and the guard from Washington going to work. One of them is coming off the bench.

He won't be counted on that much for ball handling or leadership at Arkansas. He was the best player on our team, hes just another dude on Arkansas. Playing with better players makes you better at just about any sport.

I think it will be feast or famine,, he may have a hell of a season playing with better players or he may not mesh with the team there and be a total flop.

This is going to be interesting to see how it goes for a # of reasons.

You got our #1 guy by default signing on to a program that is rolling pretty good about to take a reduced role.

Arky is replacing nearly their entire roster, Walsh PF may return.

They have a couple good HS recruits for sure, but not T10 OAD NBA Lottery guys like last year.

They are basically taking productive players off awful teams and merging them into being their team.

They have a ton of guards. Obviously going to play 3 of 'em at the same time. Will be a matchup nightmare for their opponents if it works out for them. Could also blow up in their face. Then they just try again with something new next year.

seems like a risky move by Ellis. there are 3 other point guards in the recruiting class. he has to worry about getting outshined at every practice and every play.
