My understanding is a player has 4 years of eligibility starting from when they first attend school. But for players who come in mid year when does the clock start?

Do early enrolls playing for Alabama or Clemson get some sort of waiver to be eligible for tonight's game?

You have 5 academic years to complete 4 athletic years.

Tonight's game is still the 2015 athletic year.

5 years to complete 4 seasons of eligibility, unless granted a 6th year due to injury and losing 2 full seasons of competition. The clock starts once a student is enrolled classes full time.

No early December 2015 early enrollee can play in tonights game. Their eligibility begins for the 2016 season.
