I wonder how many of the smart asses on this board could have survived their

high school years with access to twitter and facebook. I know I would have struggled but hooking up would have been a lot easier.

Calling out his coach at halftime in front of the team over playcalling is what got him dismissed. I'm sure his previous tweets didn't help, but the halftime confrontation with his coach (that his mom claims to be proud of) was the straw that broke the back. Then his mom went "pure sister" on the coach (her words from twitter).

I thought all the headcases prima donnas went to OM?

Staley's dad is bashing his son's coaches on messgae boards. Mom is blasting him on twitter. Check out her twitter MOM 1ST@sharon0121 and go back to last weekends tweets.

Good luck with this one guys! Looks like yall are picking up a good QB and two coaches. That's a hell of a package deal.

One positive is that we don't have to worry about any major injury from football his senior season.

I think you broke some kind of criminal law with what you just posted. If you didn't, there should be one.

The fact you searched for this much info is kind of "hang out the high school practices when you don't have a kid on the team" creepy.

No, but when I saw he'd been dismissed from his team and that his parents had taken to social media to blast his coach, I looked.

Are you saying you wouldn't look?

I wasn't rationalizing what he did. You know I'm old school and would never

condone calling out a coach in the locker room or on twitter or via general gossip. I was just making a general statement about how easy it is for kids to get themselves in trouble these days via social media which wasn't the case back in my day. With that said had it been around back in my day it would have been toxic for many.

There should have been a face to face meeting with the family and coach to work this out and if they couldn't then they couldn't. Don't let it play out in public.

Criminal law?

WTF you talking about?

You have become a joke since your other posters took their ball and left.

It is kind of creepy, but what else would you expect from him. That said, all he did was link to someone's Twitter account and summarize their tweets. Hard to see how that should be illegal. And yes, it does give me some cause for concern about Staley. Just like it did when Quay Evans and Nick James got kicked off their HS football teams and the party line here was that it was the coaches fault. I'm just real glad both Prescott and Williams are looking good.

Hope he enrolls early and puts on the MSU basketball jersey right before the SEC season starts.

There is a prevailing sentiment out there that thinks he may EE and go straight to basketball now...He's allegedly had the grades for awhile and been on the fence about it.

Definitely needs to do some growing up in how he handles his business... Hopefully this adversity helps him with that.

Seems Paul tweeted confirmation a little before I wrote the first post.

Paul Jones@PJ247Sports<small class="time" style="font-size: 12px; color: rgb(187, 187, 187); position: relative; float: right; margin-top: 1px;">18m</small>
2014 MSU commit Elijah Staley's father tells Bulldawgs247 that Staley is now pursuing early graduation from high school to be at MSU in Jan.

This means both FR QBs will be here for fall practice -- and probably means Staley is on the basketball team immediately upon arrival. Good news for the sport where we badly need bodies...

according to his father on 247, there was a sit down. Elijah apologized for being disrespectful to his coaches, but wouldn't apologize for his opinion that he should be able to check down plays when he sees something. He has never been in trouble before. To their surprise, they were notified Monday he was dismissed form the team.

TSUNbear Hunter. Have you ever posted something on his board that wasn't total ****? I seriously don't think you have ever made one decent post. Total ****, 100% of the time.

I can honestly say -- it sets up perfectly to go straight to basketball -- which doesn't interfere with fall football practice at all(barring a deep tourney run -- which I don't think we have to concern ourselves with this year).

IF he doesn't go straight to basketball upon arrival, there's practically zero chance he ever does. It just sets up too well for him...

Going straight to basketball would be the BEST thing for him too. Ray's discipline and the extra 6 months in a structured S&C program could do wonders for ES. If all this comes to fruition than it'll end up being a positive for ES.

Exactly what have I posted in this thread that is incorrect?

You think his father is going to admit that he has been critical of the coaches on a message board, that his son has been critical of the coach on social media prior top this incident, and that his wife admittedly went off on the coach in person and on social media.

http://www.scoreatl.com/stories/staley-dismissed-from-wildcats/

Wheeler quarterback Elijah Staley has been dismissed from the team after a 38-9 loss to Milton on Friday and the commotion that followed. A disagreement between player and coach occurred after a poor first half from the Wildcats and the 6-foot-6 Mississippi State commit was benched in the second half.
From there things went downhill. Family members of the senior passer took to twitter to criticize the decision to sideline the star and the way in which the dual-threat quarterback was being used in the offense. Amidst the tension, Wheeler head coach Mike Collins was forced to make a decision this week and concluded that it would be detrimental to the team and a distraction to have Staley remain on the roster for the second half of the season. Collins met members of the family this week, but continued criticism thwarted any chance of resolving the issue.
Staley was unable to attend Cobb County touchdown club midseason banquet on Monday to receive his award for offensive player of the week earlier in the season. The quarterback completed 64 of 101 pass attempts for 1,015 yards, 10 touchdowns and five interceptions in his five-game season.
Wheeler opened up 2013 with a 44-14 win over Sprayberry and a 59-10 rout over Pope. Three straight losses to Langston Hughes, Etowah and Friday’s humiliating loss to Milton quickly switched the atmosphere. Staley also stars on the Wildcats basketball team and is committed to play both sports on the collegiate stage next season.

You are a 17ing moron if you think his dad's side of the story is the only story. He, his dad, and his mom were openly bashing the coach at times prior to this incident. His parents condoning that is what led to him thinking he could confront the coach. His parents refusal to stop the social media shenanigans is what led to his dismissal after the benching.

Like I said before, his mom's twitter account and his dad's message board post tell the tale.

It's not like this topic hasn't come up before. You could see this coming from a ways off. Parents of recruits interacting on message boards with fans is a bad idea.

Good heavens you are an annoying gunt, I hope we cave your teams collective asses in this thanksgiving just to get you the 17 out of here. Better yet please join Elitedawgs, the sooner the better.
