Offensive coaches (excluding Croom and McCorvey) are always looking to find advantages to help move the ball and put points on the board. Defensive coaches are always looking for advantages to stop them. That is always the way the game has worked. Ellis better figure it out.

"The Gamecocks will play Auburn and Clemson this season, two teams that rely heavily on an up-tempo style of offensive football.  East Carolina, Kentucky, and Mississippi State all have the ability as well to speed up the tempo."

He has a decent point though about not having time to get defense lined up and players on/off field.

At one point he is talking about it being too fast and then seems to start bitching about it being too slow and then jumped back to it being fast. Regardless, someone needs to help Ellis get the sand out of his ******. Football is about a lot of things, and yes lining up and being able to handle speed is one of those things. Blocking and tackling too. And recruiting. And battling big money if you are a smaller school. All of that plays into it. Quit whining and bitching and find what part you can do better and try to win doing that.
