I don't know for certain but I assume that per capita cities are much more energy efficient than rural areas. But then again some on here yesterday tried to tell us that per capita doesn't matter.
LMAO......Yea....I must have missed all the vehicles in this pic that were spewing CO2 into the air for hours while they moved 31 feet.

You finally got something right. Emissions are emission regardless of the number of people.

I guess that means we'd all be better off if everybody moved out of the city and into the country and per captia usage increased. Which in turn would mean the total number of emissions increased. Hmm, wait. To quote Dennis Moore, "This is trickier than I thought."

Just trying to keep up with you folks. You really like CO2 spewing traffic jams? You don't think its a good idea to limit damage to our atmosphere by limiting the number of vehicles. You should be ashamed of yourself...obviously you don't give a sh*t about the future of our children.

These cities can all impose massive costs on cars entering the city. They can all but impose mass transit requirements. They have the power. They can force all public vehicles to go electric. They can reduce the numbers of taxis. Lots they can do.

No one has to move out of any city. Just limit the number of CO2 spewing vehicles allowed to be sitting in traffic for hours while moving 32 feet. Or just allow electric vehicles in large cities. Or a better idea yet....make NYC only allow their million yellow cars to be electric.....it would be a good test. I also am a BIG fan of Elon Musk.....I just have a big...big problem with hypocrites.

If they moved to the country, the total emissions don't change. My God.

Okay, how about this, let's force everybody in the country to move into the city. Total emissions will go down as a result. Deal?

I think that suggestion might be a little much for him to comprehend.......you might want to keep in mind who and what we are dealing with before you propose logical solutions.

They don't? Why not?

Because you are driving the same number of vehicles emitting the same amount. (I am ignoring the potential differences in driving distances since it is not relevant to this discussion).

The driving distances are irrelevant to emission? But the more you drive the more you emit. Right? Lots of people in cities don't even own a car but if they moved to the country they'd have to own one.

Gawd....you can't be this dense. THIS is NOT about people living in cities. ITS ABOUT cars sitting in traffic spewing CO2 for hours while moving 32 feet. Show me where vehicles on rural roads sit in traffic for hours on A DAILY basis.

Lots of people in the cities use taxi's, Uber, etc. Ridiculous argument. Cities can reduce their emissions in many ways. Let's see the mayor of Pittsburgh start the movement. Do away with taxi's and Uber. Tax cars driving in the city. Retrofit all government buildings to burn clean energy, use green technology. They don't need Paris to do that.

And also on a daily basis people on rural roads drive 10 miles to get to the grocery store or to work or whatever instead of taking the elevator down to the lobby and walking a few blocks.
