So we have some bad weather in North Central Ms. , channel 8 out of Greenville, that we are forced to watch,
Has taken over the TV. So we are not able to watch Tn vs Michigan...not at all at this time. Total BS...

I'm considering making my obligatory ***** to somebody about this.

Who should I ***** to, Public Service Comm., FCC, CBS?

Other ideas?

They do that here too. During the Olympics, Channel 48 had a split screen to show both Olympics and weather. Channel 19 moves the primary program (a game or whatever) to a subchannel, which is also HD, and has the weather on the primary. Other stations do similar things.

The stations say it's for public safety, and that a game is less important than saving lives. And that's not all hype ... they probably did save numerous lives in late April 2011.

If an Alabama football game was on during a tornado warning I'm not sure what they would do. I know during an SEC championship game a few years ago Alabama was playing somebody, and we had a snowstorm at the same time. So they shut down road-clearing operations so the workers could watch the game ... public safety be damned.
