You do realize that this is Kentucky and a lot of us are just a bunch of ol hillbilly rednecks that grew up in a holler and we love our CATS..we pullin for the cat that'll throw down in a bar fight and shoots guns..he gotta be the man..shoot far we all didnt grad i ate from 8th grade like some of you uns! I wouldn't characterize myself as a big Towles supporter or backer, but our HC named him the starter, and I was behind him. At this point though what could it hurt to give Barker a chance? He came in as a heralded recruit, and he's had almost two seasons in the program now. Give him a chance. It's not unheard of for some guys to be "gamer's", guys who just seem to play bigger and better than they practice. Maybe he isn't one of those, but we'll never know until he gets a chance.

I'm for winning.....whether that means Towles, Barker, Phillips, etc. But I'm also quite knowledgeable about football.......it would not be surprised in the least to see Towles start the rest of the yr.........and still retain a mild leg-up heading into next yr.

For all the PT critics- He is going to make you all look bad next year when he transfers to a passing school that has anOline that can protect him and receivers that will not drop balls. He will follow what Maxwell Smith has done this year at San Diego State. Remember he is a 5th year senior and can transfer to any D-1 school and you all will still be stuck with a horroble Oline that doesn;t block and more awful play calling from Shannon Dawson.

I hope he's able to find a program interested in letting him play. Towles is in such a bad place mentally right now, it will likely take years of counseling for him to recover. I'm afraid he's been done in by bad play calling and an offensive line that is either inept, their coach is inept, or both.

One thing that really bothered me on the last play today: The Vandy player that sacked Towles? Jo Jo made one of the most pitiful attempts to block the guy that I've ever seen at any level of football. Check out the replay. It should be completely embarrassing for Jo Jo to call himself a football player when he can't make any SEMBLANCE of an effort when the team still has a (slim) chance to win the game. I try not to call out players, but that play was grounds to cut the guy from the team.

I can't believe we still have fans that want to stick with Towles and not give Barker a shot at the qb job. Patrick has been the man at QB for 20+ games now. He has had more than a fair shot to turn things around and show he's the best we have on the roster at QB and to be honest, many of us feel like Barker at least deserves playing time, if not the starting QB job to see what he can do. If Patrick aint what he's hyped to be at this point of his career, odds are he will never get there. Barker deserves a shot at leading this team and you guys know if he does a better job it wouldn't be the first time in history that the coaches who watch and judge their every practice would be wrong. It happens every year. None of us expect Barker to be the hero and save the season, but the kid needs playing time and the time is now. Some say Barker can't do any better, but i disagree. I look at it like the kid couldn't do any worse than the job Towles is putting up. For whatever reason Patrick hasn't lived up to the hype many put on him and i hope Barker can show us a lil hope for the future.
