I like beating the Bears just as much as anybody, but it's time for Mullen to take the next step in 2014.

4 bowl games in a row. Never happened before. if we go 7 and 5 or 8 and 4 next year and don't beat a top 20 team its o.k.

7 should be the minimum though. I wouldn't fire him at 6 and 6, but the same expectations if we won less than 6 this year would be made with winning less than 7 next year.

I'm curious, what is the combined record of the teams we lost to in that 0-19 stretch, taking out losses to each other?

(Yes, I could look it up but I'm at work, on my phone and lazy.)

Look at it this way...We could be like Ohio State and hardly ever play a top 20 team...They play one this week finally....

Man. Even on his way out, he knows how to cause a splash. That was gold. It was even funnier that HD6 was the one that swung the ban hammer. I bet he felt some jubilation doing that.

Yes, I am happy with our win over the Bears and the fact that we are going to our 4th straight bowl game under Dan.
Our defense really improved thought this season, just wish if hadn't taken 9 games.
I am optimistic that next season we will get that "Signature Win" over a Top 20 team. Time will tell..

After-all, in 1980 #1 Bama went down to our Dawgs 6-3, so it can happen.

All that matters is final rank. Rank at the time is irrelevant. Unless you honestly think Auburn and LSU should get credit for beating us in 2011 but not in 2010.

Ok. Using your rankings, which is a whole other discussion, here are those numbers:

The overall record of all those teams: 247-51
One Team with 5 losses (FLA '10) W
Three teams with 4 losses (OM '09, LSU '09, A&M '13) W L L
Six teams with 3 losses (All losses)
All the rest 10-2 or better
Record of All SECW teams (except us) since '09: 240-111

I wanted to look up record of all SECW teams since '09 excluding losses to each other, but that is too much work considering someone has probably done it before. If this fit Engie's agenda, I would ask him to look it up. He is good at compiling stats. I'll give him that.

Well Ole Miss has never been to Atlanta and no one remembers when was the last time they made it to Omaha. Wasn't Ole Miss ranked pretty high this year? Too bad they lost to TAM, Alabama, auburn and us. They would have still been ranked.
