What a rollercoaster ride this site is. From " bowl games don't matter" to "fire the coach for not winning this bowl game"! We lost to an 8-4 team. Only a hyped up State fan would go berserk over that result. We knew going in that our defense was terrible and our offense line was as weak as a wet paper sack. The team got to practice with our new DC in attendance to evaluate the lack of talent on that side of the ball. We also hired some help on the offensive side. The portal is open and we have an opportunity to get some talent that is missing. The sun will come up tomorrow and life will go on folks. This years team will play the game and we will see what happens. Happy New Year!

That all sounds good, but the problem is we have the same guy making the same mistakes, with no hope for him to get any better leading the team. He is still making the same bone head calls after 25 games. He seems to have made no improvements.

He did make many of the same mistakes but to his credit he did take the points from FGs multiple times instead of going for it,and that at least had us within a puncher’s chance at the end. That said, it is going to take a massive upgrade on the offensive line to make any progress. Not sure how much of it was designed vs. a freshman qb doing freshman things, but obviously we can’t be using a qb like he’s Franco Harris, and it seemed like that was the game plan..

No play call is going to work when the OL folds like a cheap suite. What specific play calls are you talking about? Our RBs couldn't get out of the backfield. Until we field an SEC quality offensive line we will see the same on offense. This is the same offense mind that blew the roof off at Ole Miss and Oklahoma. Even so, if we fielded a serviceable defense we would have had a shot at a win last night.

I'm not happy about the results. I'm a realist that understood what we were up against. I was just as frustrated as anyone on here. Games are won and lost in the trenches and we lost this one early. For 2 years we've been one of the worst defensive teams in the country. I didn't expect that to change in this game. I'm hoping that Arnett can fix it during the off season.

That was hard to watch, but what did we really expect to happen? We were 5-7 against an uncharacteristically mid SEC. We fluke our way into a bowl game because no one else wanted to waste their time with it against a middle of the road ACC team who won something like 8 games. The people on here predicting a pretty easy win were delusional or didn’t watch us play this season. Did we think KT would be better than Shapen behind that wet paper sack of a line? It ended about as it should have.

It really is something to see all the people apathetic toward State and college football overall get so furious. I don’t think they know what that word means.

The issue with Lebby has NOTHING to do with the players. We have lined up on 4th and short multiple times this year. The team never even gets into a set position to make the defense possibly get anxious and jump offside. He then wastes a timeout to save 5 yards. Every other team that does that has QBs clapping hands, puts multiple people in motion, starts cussing and says this never works and then direct snaps it to the RB and gets the he first down like Mahomes did this year.

Then later in the game when there is a 4th and short and you actually want to run a play because it is a critical point in the game, you DON'T call timeout when you have 3 and you get the delay of game because they snap it late and take going for it off the table.

How about when your first and goal, and we keep hearing about all the speed you have, you don't run the speed across the formation and flip it to them to run wide. No you do 4 QB runs or you run the back up the middle. Why don't we have a single play where a blocking Tight End sneaks out on play action? It worked for Wake Forest.

The man is the dumbest coach I have ever watched in my 60 years of watching football. And I did not include the end of the Tennessee game with the panicked TO and no FG attempt. The kicker hit from 50 last night. He is just DUMB.

Is is line talent or coaching or both? I’ll say both and if Loadholt is it back I don’t care if we have 5 Charles Crosses we will suck.

Minimum 6-6 to keep his job. We did see improvements this year and I expect to see improvements again especially with conditioning, on the defensive side of the ball, OL and special teams. We were 105 in total defense this year! This is a stat we prided ourselves on in the past at State. The biggest mistake Lebby has made was hiring Hutzler as DC. If Arnett can get us in the 50s it should be enough to win 3 or more games. We were 55th in total offense which is pretty amazing when you consider the cluster17 up front. If I were Lebby or Arnett I'd look for the meanest, ugliest beasts in the portal for the trenches and get as many as I could. 10 OL and 9 DL.

He makes such bad in game decisions we would be better off if he just “did the opposite“ like Costanza.

I'm not sure why you're complaining. Lebby had KT tell Wake to please jump offside. He told him to ask politely. It's not his fault if Wake is rude and insensitive and won't play along.

He didn’t blow the roof off at Oklahoma, his last year there the OU fan base wanted him fired.

The point is he did NOT. He did NOTHING. Lebby held his hand up the entire time. The team never even became set. No one was going to move. If you couldn't see that you're just as dumb.

I was trying to give Lebby the benefit of the doubt and say “Well maybe we were planning to go for it, but WF came out in a defensive front that he knew would be a bad matchup for our play call so he decided to call timeout and punt it.” But then after the commercial, the announcers showed the defensive alignment and said how easy it would’ve been to pick up a first down against it. So it turns out, Lebby is just a moron.
