Well, in the past week or so we have lost Maddison AND Kulusevski to injury/surgery. Digging deep for a number 10 now. Why even play first teamers in a league match this close to Europa glory?

So Spursy.

Europa glory? I guess since it does get you in the CL if you win it now there might be a little glory in it.

I laughed when the announcers were talking about Spurs record in major European semi-finals during their match vs. the team from Norway a couple of weeks ago. The fact a team from a town of 50,000 people above the Arctic Circle in Norway and the 16th and 17th place EPL teams were 3 of your 4 semi-finalists pretty much says it all about how major this league is.

Liverpool are will into the summer silly season. We are being linked with everybody under the sun it seems. Probably none of it is true as usual. It’s weird being there before the season is even over. Good problem to have. 😀

Since I was a kid watching Soccer Made in Germany on whatever MPB was back then. No politics involved, I was just a kid that liked to watch the sport. That's still what it is with me all these years later. It was something of a journey to becoming a fanatic Liverpool fan...Robbie Fowler was my man. I pity you folks that have to view EVERYTHING through politics. You must be absolutely miserable. Still that's your choice. I'm going to enjoy the life I have left.
Thinking soccer sucks has nothing to do with politics man!!

I agree, liking it or not should have nothing to do with politics. It doesn’t for me. That being said we all know that isn’t the case for everyone, on both sides of the isle.

It never ends. As soon as one transfer window ends the speculation about the next one begins. This will be a big summer for Liverpool though. They’ve got some real needs to fill immediately & also to build for the future.

Yes they do, and rumors are flying that FSG will spend big. We will see. Need a RB, LB, and a striker for sure. I expect to see Nunez moved on. I like the guy, he busts his tail every game. That being said, he plays the nine and he can’t hit the target.

After I hit the post button on this it hit me…..we just won the EPL without a decent #9. That’s wild.

He’s a guy that if it ever clicks for him he could score 25 goals a season. But we’re 3 years in & he has 25 goals total. If it ever happens for him it will be somewhere else.

Yep. Ever play Football Manager? I hadn't bought a version since 2019. I just recently bought the most recent version, 2024. I won the league in my first season, Nunez scored 28 league goals, 30 something over all. If the real one could only do that!

I’ll have to give, for ONCE, a decent shout out to the Toffees across the park. This weekend will be the last EPL/Top Flight game ever at Goodison Park. That IS a grand old ground by any measure, a classic English stadium. I hope they get the win. It’s too bad their owners couldn’t see the wisdom of renovating and preserving their traditional ground. Thank God for FSG. Anfield and Fenway Park both still exist because of them.

There is a Sky Sports piece on Goodison on YouTube. Watch it if you get a chance. Everton, despite their history for the last 30 years, are a massive club. I just hate their fall took that grand old ground down with them.

My only experience with either Goodison or Anfield is arriving by cruise ship at the docks on the Mersey. You could see them both literally reared against the eastern sky. Anfield has been expanded twice since then. Goodison is unchanged. I wanted to tour both, especially Anfield….but the historian in me, and the Roman and Medieval stuff at nearby Chester changed my mind. I did buy a couple of Liverpool tshirts at the club shop in Chester, I still wear them. This was a decade plus ago.

Despite their colors I like them. That eagle buzzing the field before games is really cool.
That is their first major trophy in their 120 year history. I've seen the lights and upper part of their stadium from a train. It looked to be in a real South London neighborhood. We had a driver over there whose son was on their youth team back in the day. He was a real entertaining guy. Palace have been one of my "other" teams ever since. I've had a good year in soccer!

Spurs get the Europa and the Champion's League next season. The 17th place team in the EPL will be in the Champion's League. 😳

Nobody is talking about the Mancs here. They won't be in Europe at all next year. Their stadium is big but it is falling apart and is completely outdated. They have spent a lot of money on players and look what they have to show for it. They are cutting staff to the bone. GLORY TO UNITED! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Now will he be there in year three? That is a dilemma for the owners for sure.
At this point, I think he has earned another year at least. He was dealt a huge blow with injuries mid-season. The influx of cash from Champions League should allow us to add some depth to our roster. The locker room was clearly behind the manager.

The big question is who is exiting this summer and who can we get to replace them? Are Levy & Co willing to spend the money for a serious CL run next season. We have a lot of youngsters outside of the first team, but they don't have CL quality if we get into injury trouble again.
