Being the bluest of blue collar, I thought that place was uppity when I was an undergrad. Been there a couple times visiting my kids, and it is still ticking.Surprised Cafe 210 West is not on this list. It was our hangout in graduate school back in the mid-80s
When Luckin overtakes Starbucks, there will be one deflated Bob.Everything sucks now.

I remember the Futura- and Rita's bar, tooI’m certain none of yinz still alive recalls Winkies (burgers) or the Futura (pickled eggs)!
Now?Everything sucks now.

I remember downstairs strombolis at Vesuvio’sWhat was the upstairs restaurant on College that had the great strombolis? They made a whole wheat spinach and mushroom stromboli that I still crave 47 years later!
Oh, and THE BEST fried chicken I've ever had was from the A&P in the plaza off of Westerly Parkway. Short hike from Briarwood for a 'short bucket' (4 piece). Would finish it before I made it back to the apartment.
You can still get stickies at the Creamery, right? No, not Joe, this time.
Chicken Cosmo: Gone
Ye Olde College Diner and Grilled Stickies: Gone
Baby’s: Gone
The Deli: Gone
Donuts To Go and Chocolate Bismarcks: Gone
Bubba’s Breakaway: Gone
…
Is there an on-going conspiracy to get rid of all the good food at PSU? I bet there is. We need a sleuth.

Talked to the owner of Hi-Way shortly after they re-closed their spot next to McLanahan's. She told me there was some bizarre discrepancy with the building's owner where the lease was coming up, and Hi-Way was prepared to re-sign, and then the owner just pulled it without notice. No contact. No discussion. No nothing. Hi-Way ownership says they have no idea what happened.Skeller

The Brickhouse is gone, too, right?
And don’t forget Roy Rogers. Loved dipping fries into horseradish sauce.

Hardees steak sandwich, the bomb!Surf Club. CC Peppers on College Avenue just tasted better. California cheesesteak with Bay Fries. I just remember our nights out at the Skeller, then to the Gaff then getting whatever grease pit food at Hardees. Sometimes we even ate those crap hot dogs at Uni Mart. Great times. My one roommate and best friend from PSU passed away a few years ago. She had MS. I try to honor her every time I go to Happy Valley by getting CC Peppers and saying a brief prayer outside our old spots.
Bon Appétit" my friends, "enjoy your meal.I think it was leveled 1984/85 ish

Summer ‘86.Yes. I was about to ask about the train station. It must have been long gone by the 90’s?
Ah yes…Rita’s with the “gorgeous” go-go dancers….haha. That’s a fun nostalgic memory!I remember the Futura- and Rita's bar, too
That's where I first had French onion soup and remember it whenever I have it.Bon Appétit" my friends, "enjoy your meal.
"The Train Station closed its doors in 1986, long before virtually all current undergrads were even born. As the name would suggest, the Train Station was a railroad-themed restaurant and bar. Even more than 30 years later, plenty of alumni still swear by the bar’s free mustard and pretzels, release valve drink, and French onion soup.
The release valve was such a popular drink that you can still findits recipe online, as credited to the classic State College bar. To make it, you’ll need grenadine, pineapple juice, white rum, and vodka. Conductor hats aren’t a requirement, but they’d certainly be a nice finishing touch."

Thank you. She was THE biggest football fan and loved JoePa. I miss her dearly, but I know she’s with me in spirit…especially when I’m at a PSU football game.My condolences on the loss of your friend.
Skeller then Gaff was how I started out almost every Friday that we didn’t have a party in our townhouse.
Fortunately, there are several places that sell them. You can still get stickies at the Creamery, right?
Leone’s in Waring Commons… used to give away free football tickets with pizza.
