When serving each person individual pitchers mixed with 12 types of bottom shelf liquor, what do they expect. The Saloon! Got thrown out of there on my 21st after puking in the trough urinal. Had the wherewithal to let the bouncer know “I’ve been kicked out of nicer places than this” as i was being escorted out.
You know what - I did get some sort of Cosmo - just a little too many sheets to the windI remember: I always ordered the Super Special Cosmo with Mushrooms and The Works
2x each of ham, turkey, roast beef, and aged provolone...broiled
The grease rolled down my arms. It was glorious.
My god, I would have put on the Freshman 50 eating that.Don't forget Suzy Wongs. My standard lunch for years was a ham n cheese on an onion bagel with an egg roll on the side.

The Scorpion, when you wanted to hear rock n roll bands and dance with beautiful college girls.
I feel like I had a love-hate relationship with the Scorpion, but I can’t really why.The Scorpion, when you wanted to hear rock n roll bands and dance with beautiful college girls.
I was just scanning the board to see if anyone mentioned Pop's. Man i bought a lot of those. A coupe of things. I heard that some restaurant serves the same recipe but I don't know if they are also out of business. Someone on here at this site had the recipe and sent it to me or posted it. I've been making that sauce ever sinceGot me, I am old, I could have said Pops Mexi Hots.
If you happen to work there Betty always gave us free food to take home, I had to commit to Friday nights so I could have Saturdays off for the gameLione’s had a huge chocolate chip cookie, half dipped in chocolate, served on a stick. Yum.
Be right back.
Yes. I was about to ask about the train station. It must have been long gone by the 90’s?

I got tossed out of Bar Anticipation in Belmar, NJ on my 21st birthday after a few beers and a few Mind Erasers. Bartender looked at my friends and said, “Get him out, he’s about to throw up.” And as a friend was driving me home, I did. Projectile, out the passenger window as the car was moving. The Saloon! Gus's cheese steaks in the 1960s will always be on my heart. His secret sauce made his sandwiches # 1No, not Joe, this time.

Hub Lawn is pretty much gone too.remember that big, grass field that students used to play pickup games. It was cool in its day, like a big park. In the general area of Eisenhower Auditorium. It's all buildings now.

I used to play club soccer there (International Soccer Club). I think at one point it was the "women's athletic field".remember that big, grass field that students used to play pickup games. user name checks outOne of the interesting things about continuing to live in State College is what people view as tradition. Some things listed here were very short lived. In a college town tradition is formed in for years.
I am pretty sure Meyer Dairy was the one the picked up the Mexi-hots. I can't speak to the authenticity but pretty sure that was where they went.I was just scanning the board to see if anyone mentioned Pop's. Man i bought a lot of those. A coupe of things. I tended bar at the Phyrst from 1990 until 1998. There was a period where Ernie went to a bar in Florida and they had free popcorn, so he bought a popcorn machine, and we had to make free popcorn for about two years. When he sold the bar near the end of my time there the new owner threw out the popcorn machine. People came back that fall complaining how it was tradition to come to the Phyrst and have popcorn. I just shook my head.user name checks out

Not sure about the parties, but I remember them hanging out on the wall.Anyone remember the house with all of the 'monks'...no idea now if they were Moonies or Krishnas or whatever. They had a vegetarian meal one night a week. There were a few times back then when my roommates and I were so hungry that we attended. The food was good. You just had to endure a short speech and some weird dancing, singing, and tambourines. Ah, college...
Picking up at the salad bar at 2:15am was a sport.Admit it, you snagged one of those ketchup bottles
