"It would be unacceptable to the Tennessee fan base if Tennessee loses to Mississippi State..."

Who do you think you are? Alabama? LSU?I certainly hope we can administer a beatdown on these clowns.

It was "unacceptable" for Auburn to lose to Mississippi State too. And just like January 01, 2000, the world kept on Rollin.

Hell it's "unacceptable" for UM to lose to MSU according to some morons.

Who really cares, that's pretty much the attitude of every fanbase in the SEC except for maybe Vandy and Kentucky. Won't stop us from kicking that Vol tail though on Oct. 13th. We should be jacked for that game given we will not have had a big game since Auburn.

I really want to see another Gator Bowl ***-kicking. I get it... I understand us throwing in a lot of subs when we are up, but that **** needs to stop come SEC play. Mullen needs to dominate teams for reasons like this. A small win and the UT fans think their coach screwed up by letting one get away to MSU. An old fashion ***-beating given to whomever we can, changes perception.

This isn't the NFL... margin of victory matters. Assuming we finish somewhere in the 9-3, 10-2 area, the amount of beatdowns can be the difference between Peaches or Cotton this year since UGA, USCe, Bama, and LSU have already won over the media, etc.

Not sure they have legitimate reason to think that. We've only played them once in modern history, and beat the crap out of them in the Gator Bowl year before last ....

That's certainly been how it's gone with several coaches. I guess to most it must be extremely embarrassing to get beat by us.

It might be a good way to get rid of Saban this year ....

Ainge is simply speaking the truth about UT fans. They see no reason why they should lose to State. Before the season when fans were calling sports talk shows in Knoxville giving predictions about the season...EVERYONE of them chalked up the MSU game as a definite win. Since then, they realize its not going to be a gimme...but still fully expect to win.

Heard two talk show hosts today talking about the importance of Tennessee's next four games to Dooley's future...Georgia, MSU, Bama, and USC. They said of the four, the only one they wouldnt consider an upset win would be MSU. They're stuck in 1998.

before the season, I had MSU as a "must win" for Dooley to keep his gig... and it may still be.... if UT loses in Starkville, Dooley will have lost 5 of 6 and 4 straight going in to November (at 3-5)...

Expect UT to throw everything they have at MSU...
