Didn’t CBC take the state champ flyers to the wire 2 years ago as Sophs? I don’t think Trinity is in the same stratosphere as CBC this year.

The only sophomore on that team for CBC was the current QB who is a senior now. He is the only CBC player that played in that game that I am aware of. Also if CBC had trouble containing Eville they would have trouble containing Trinity.

True. Although after seeing both play, I don't know if I would give Williams the edge over Eville QB running the football. Also, Gabbert is the real deal and that CBC team is MASSIVE.

I am absolutely not prepared to give either player the edge based on both being really good. Trinity was also big however there is no comparison in CBC skill players versus Trinity. The QB and running back from CBC are outstanding ball players and it shows. I really can't say who would win between CBC and Trinity but I do know both teams can play football well.

I seriously doubt anyone will find a player as fast or game breaking this season as Trinity junior RB Mookie Cooper.

Interesting. That is quite the bold statement. I watched that game and I completely disagree. Had one great play though.

Kid was definitely a speedster. I would say he looked faster than say AJ Henning. Obviously none of us have seen all the players.

I agree Edgy. Trinity QB was quick but this kid (#5) has world class speed. The touchdown he scored in the first quarter was ridiculous. He we untouched and was about 10yards ahead of everyone by the time he scored.
But it looked like Trinity had soda in their Gatorade bottles. The whole team was cramping!

RE; Cramping.

Althoff did something this year - at the start of two-a-days, kids got jugs to keep filled with water. They pushed game-ready hydration from Day 1 and cramping has not been a team issue.

“Illinois is like family to me,” said 2020 Trinity running back Mookie Cooper (no relation to Shammond), whom Patterson coached in youth football. “It’s making a lot of us lean towards going there. I don’t know about all of us going to Illinois, but most definitely most of us, it could happen. It’s like a family bond now.”

More than a coach , like a uncle
love you man and live yo life !
Congrats !!

Shammond Cooper ⁷@Shammond07

From youth coach to Highschool to college coach in just years, it was a blessing to ever have him as my coach. He made a kid from STL dreams come true and for that I can never repay him... Congrats coach @coachpatterTCHS The movement is still moving and it's not gone stop

People also fail to realize that a big part of cramping is tied to nutrition...in way too many cases kids are eating all wrong or nothing at all. Good nutrition plan along with fluids goes a long long ways. Also people can laugh but pickle juice definitely has benefits and so does yellow mustard....especially when a cramp hits the yellow mustard will help ease the cramp quickly..

I was at the CBC-E'ville game. I also attended the ESL- Trinity game. Based on my assumption and mine along my edge right now would go to Trinity. Thats bases on defense alone. CBC defense is ok not great but ok.

CBC is ranked 35 in the nation. Trinity 0-2 and not even close to that. Maybe edw QB is that good to make CBC defense look just ok.

I believe Trinity and CBC started the year off pretty close in ranking. CBC has played O'fallon and Edwardsville. Trinity has played Colquitt County and ESL. No were close to comparison but, the actual ranking comment is true. Don't forget CBC and E'ville played last year with a similar margin of victory. The difference is the amount of point both teams gave up this year compared to last year. I will also add that CBC had better skill last year and E'ville had 4 returning starters on the O-Line last year.

Games are played on the field, Not on a hunch of what sports writers think. True E'ville QB is good, What do you think would happen when trinity uses more then just their qb.

You best mean spreading “yella musta” rubbed on the muscle cramp - not slurping it, right? I’d rather deal with the cramp.

Begs the question - name a name. Not saying you’re wrong - who would you suggest?

Never seen anything like Kendall Abdur-Rahman. I think he is criminally underrated. But I believe there are quite a few others in the Midwest that are bigger playmakers than Cooper from trinity.

That’s feasible. KAR is the man this year. Top prospect to bet on.

I think the point was not exactly the best “best player” but one who could cause some major, “Aw crap” due to his athleticism.

No doubt Cooper is fast, one way to compare speed is 100m time...Cooper is 11.10, AJ Henning 10.67, Marcellus Moore 10.31

Although none of this really matter, here is the facts about the situation.
Tyler went to Trinity for 8 days. He went to summer school at ESL. Transferred to Trinity for a week and a half and went back to ESL. He was at ESL before the start of conference football play as a Freshman.

So he practiced with Trinity then played the freshman season with ESL?

I didn't post the articles to imply anything negative, but only because Crusader asked me for sources. My initial comment also didn't imply anything negative and was only stating that the game may be more personal for the ESL QB, which made an already big game that much more interesting.

Yes, I knew and understood why you posted. I was just stopping speculation before anything got started. The game was very personal for him which is why he rushed a few throws. It was a great atmosphere and game for all involved which include the fans.

CBC just rolled Chaminade 49-7, with the shutout being broken up by a pass with a minute left in the game. (Lots of MO teams playing on Thursday due to official shortage.)

Simeon wins by two scores against Phillps.
