East St. Louis QB Tyler Macon threw five touchdown passes and led the Flyers offense. Macon passed for 336 yards and was 14 of 18 with no interceptions.

impressive, but would you agree that Nequa Valley’s) Gronowski’s 7 touchdowns, 5 T.D. passes, 116 yards rushing, and 2 scores on the ground (against your flyers) probably earned him a Division 1 scholarship. If they were 7A again I’d also make an accurate prediction for the 3rd year, but I’ll leave it at that. I’m not trying to be a jerk, but their conference isn’t competitive, albeit with the sole exception being Edwardsville. Also, it was 33-0 at the half; going forward if you quote stats please include an asterisk to note that he played the entire game...

Yes whole game but no passes in late 3Q only hand offs to 3rd and 4th string rb’s. Oh and yes he had a good no great game against the Flyers and if he can do it on a consistent basis then yes he maybe a D 1 athlete

Fully aware this was Alton ... but a notch above 7v7 ...

Correct, the SWC is poor. But the Flyers non-con is pretty decent.

And I believe Gronk already had a D1 ride. He may get more because of that performance.

I can say the same about you and your Flyers. Your kind of over the top with your posts. ;)

He was committed to South Dakota before the season started. He is one of very few 2020 QB committed D1 in Illinois.

The Eastside vs Edwardsville game is next weekend and it's likely that it will not be competitive.

You just soooooo can’t stand folks not saluting LWE ... this is the issue.

It’s rubbing you raw.

Lol
Your so wrong. I could care less what others think. I am not on here singing how great they are like you are about ESL. LWE May win or lose this year but I won’t ever say they aren’t beatable. Every HS team is beatable, your beloved Flyers included. Why don’t they petition up to 8A like Crossbones suggests? Why?

And AJ does not break long ones against East Side. He’s slowed down since he’s added some pounds.

Conference rules.

He know why. Not going to get into a debate with Corey when LWE has a good team he has his chest poked out. No one said ESL was not unbeatable. Its high school football man. Lighten up just have fun and watch the game be happy for all the kidslet them have their moment no matter if its MC, LA or anyone.

Agree Flyer
We’re good as we both understand no team is unbearable. Weather AJ has lost a step or not that’s yet to be determined. Top colleges don’t think so even the best in Alabama. Michigan has a player!

What’s crazy is the people you keep going back and fourth with are not true Flyer fans. They just like getting a rise out of your dislike for the Flyers being considered number one. You respond every time. Crusader told he was an Althoff guy yet whenever he mentions ESL, here you come. It’s high school football and everyone knows that.

But true! Act humble and maybe you wouldn’t get post like this.
Boy I wish ESL played in 8A.

I wish that other teams from the state, Chicago Phillips excluded (Phillips is cut from the same cloth), had the guts to TRAVEL anywhere throughout the state and play any team early in the season, when weather and injuries are likely not a factor, and true quickness and skills can’t be neutralized. And don’t give me that non-sense about hard weather being synonymous with football, either. Florida, California, and Texas are all churning out the most top players nationwide (I wonder why). I’ve been around long enough to know also that the phantom flags calling back our touchdowns will still occur, Insert: MC here, but of course WE can persevere through that, that’s just a little politics and racism. Nonetheless, truly dominant programs look for stiff competition and persevere through early losses. Hats off to Batavia and Neuqua Valley, though. I think NV will be TRAVELING down to play in the Big House next year.

8A?? Class size only factors in during the playoffs. As it’s been said before, please have LWE schedule a non-conference game with E-Side and end all this conjecture. We all know for sure that out of those two, one team wouldn’t back down.

Great point! I applaud Phillips as well for scheduling quality non conference opponents, otherwise they also would only get 1 quality conference game (Simeon). I’m sure you’ll like this better...You have the best receiving core tandem since Appleton/ Hawthorn, 7 of the top 100 players in the nation, you literally have the same team from last year, therefore anything short of a championship is unacceptable. So don’t get frustrated with me; send coach an email. The goal is the trophy, not being able to boast about who’s willing to travel to East St. Louis to get a quality game when it’s not necessary. I’m certain Zovnar (at LWE) doesn’t wake up thinking “if we could only beat east side my career would be complete”. Would you agree?

I’ll help you out for a second since y’all 5A now. I just watched some of the game footage from NV game and I’m seeing some of the same up front play. Who’s the line coach? Tell him to contact me... It wasn’t the phantom flags during the MC game, I’m willing to bet you any East Side Coach would agree that they got beat up front. The offensive line doesn’t sustain blocks on the run, they don’t pick up the blitz well, so playing quality teams the quarterback will not have time. I don't care how fast the receivers are; they can’t out run man underneath with cloud coverage over the top when the quarterback only has 3 seconds to throw the ball.

Honestly, I’m disappointed you’re not in 7A; I was looking forward to meeting up again.

Considering the right side of the line in that game due to injury and suspension were both Freshman! Yes two 9th graders guard and tackle held their own against 8A competition. Also to be clear, NO TEAM held ESL under 400 yards of offense last year or this year as of today. Our line did well against MC both years! The NFL struggle with picking up a blitz so I am not sure your point. They are High School players and far from perfect.

Hmmmmm, The goal is the trophy?? Actually, these comments have emanated from the “Best Team In the State” discussions, if I recall correctly. So, stating the obvious isn’t necessary, that is unless you enjoy the sound of your keyboard or the feel of haptic feedback from your phone.

Don’t need your lil help either, I get along just fine with my realistic assessment of the matters at hand. BTW, don’t try your hand at Casinos, you apparently will lose every time. I believe that we had more offensive yards against you guys both games, so your OL theory falls short as does your apparent true satisfaction with your team.

Maybe I’m wrong, but your trolling appears to be rooted in some type of lil guy complex or something, I guess you somehow feel threatened by the accolades earned by ESL still, in spite of unusual losses to your beloved school back to back in arguably our redeveloping years. Years in which WE BOTH fell short, if I were to borrow your “The goal is the trophy” analogy.

Also, correction, we are being forced to play 5A given the same reasons I stated above relating to the phantom calls that our opponents all heavily benefit from, yours being no exception. As Edgytim stated in his thoughts on our game with Batavia, the score didn’t reflect the game, as it doesn’t most times. After quickly scoring on three consecutive drives, all of a sudden our guys forgot how to play football (having three touchdowns called back that would have forced a running clock, imagine that). Seems as though the Chicago mob mentality will never die, but I digress.

Oh yeah, doesn’t your school have open boarders in the 3rd largest city in the nation, affording you a bit of a HUGE advantage over the much smaller public school that seems to keep you up at night?

Your funny. I actually don’t have any dislike for ESL. I actually respect their program. I think the fans can get a bit over the top but I respect the program and the team. I have said it before and will say it again. I think a game between ESL and LWE would be a great game.

I clearly stated your dislike for them being number 1. Never said you didn’t like ESL or the program. Also I will say it one more time, ESL fans hasn’t said anything that can be considered over the top. The I individuals who made over the top statements are not true ESL fans. They are individuals that like what they see so far. Please know the difference.

not sure of the accuracy of the stat keepers for the media but this was in the Belleville -West Democrat after last seasons playoff game.

The Flyers, in fact, out-gained Mount Carmel 392 offensive yards to 308, but were done in by bad field position, untimely turnovers and a costly lapse on special teams.

I get the internet “troll” label because I strongly disagreed with your fans who guaranteed victories the last two years. I was literally in your locker room expressing my sentiments. We are just as passionate about ball up here. Anyway, it’s been fun my friend, since there’s no way this argument can be resolved on the field this year I guess you’re right- my commenting appears to be trolling. At the end of the day, I’m a fan of success, so hopefully you can deliver this year. I’m expecting my guys to do the same... good luck!

Well, almost in your locker room, security kindly asked me to take it easy on you guys... not sure why everyone was so upset; all I said was “all brakes, no gas!”... the nerve! At some point your faithful ‘posters’ will not accept the phantom flags and long bus ride excuses... which is funny, because it didn’t hear anyone complaining about bringing all those grills up here, and partying 4 hours before game time. Anyway, they’ve gone on record stating that nobody can beat you. Sounds like they expect a Championship, considering the stable of All Americans and 5A reclassification- who wouldn’t?!!? I’ll be watching; the coaches critique will be forthcoming because the way I see it, I could call a series or two and score with all that so called talent... well, of course! Only Coach Dave could stop me...we both know, it all comes down to who has the best game plan... just joking with ya bro! Just be thankful you won’t have to experience this new stadium; it’s electric!

Ahh, I see. I now know who I’ve been talking to......
