Saw this on Nafoom and thought some of you guys may want it. It is a free program called Hotspot Shield. When you have a game on ESPN 3 that is being blacked out, you can download this program it is assigns you an IP address that differs from your real address. That way you can watch any blacked out game on ESPN3.

It will not allow you to watch ESPN3 if your cable company is not on the ESPN3 provider list.

I haven't personally tried Hotspot Shield but the reviews of it online (CNet, etc.) say that it puts a banner add at the top of each page you visit. Also, the review says it has a 5GB limit for data transfer. Not sure how long this would last while streaming video. Be careful.

No troubles yet. Everything I have read about it sounds like it works great with little problem. If you try to watch movies or tv shows through the actual website you have to deal with ads. Not a problem when you go to another site. Espn 3 has worked great so far.

Don't really understand the "be careful" warning. What is the worst that could happen? It reaches a limit and won't let me watch any more videos? Not like it can charge me anything since it requires zero information to download it.

I don't necessarily have anything against the Hotspot folks. It's just that some unscrupulous programmers sometimes will program software to track you, steal your private information, or other bad things. Not saying that Hotspot Shield does; just saying be careful. That's all. You can click the following ]Hotspot Shield review[/url]
