How many other geezers recall Gameday coming to Columbia in 2001? We thought we had this big matchup against FL and got dogwalked.
This will be about the same for Vandy. It looks like a big matchup but it isn’t. Vanderbilt is 5-0 but will finish 7-5 at best. The Tide won’t have a let down game after UGA, maybe if the Vandy thing didn’t happen last year that would be a danger.

It's beginning to look like a lot of the handwringing about Bama after their opening game loss was premature. I have a feeling they are going to hammer Vandy. I think there is a 0% chance Vandy wins because Bama simply cannot lose to Vandy 2 years in a row. Their might be a riot in Birmingham if Bama lost this game. Bama seems to be on a mission now and with getting embarrassed by Vandy last year, I think they are going to smoke them to prove a point.
I was there. The guys doing the show were wearing coats and ties above the table with shorts and tennis shoes hidden underneath. One of the silly blackouts.

I'm pulling for Vandy. If they were to beat 'Bama 2 years in a row, the misery from 'Bama fans would be exquisite. The extra bonus would be to hear Finebaum try to explain this to his call in audience, GLORIOUS
I do not like Vandy's ascendence and if Saban were there, I'd be glad to see them brought down a peg, but it would be fantastic to see Bama lose to them 2x in a row.

If that is the case, then the antipathy should be directed more inward than to a school that is making positive steps to better their program. I certainly can't fault Vandy for that, in fact I applaud them for the effort.

It makes total sense that a CPA from a different school would be active day and night on this forum froloking with the BOTs.
I have a hard time being happy with anyone else's ascendancy because of the notion that any other SEC teams success comes at least partially at our expense.
I admit I also like rooting for underdogs, so the vandy story is also a good one too.

I will cheer for vandy in this one due to the underdog, its a good story kind of thinking.
But I wouldnt wager on them. I think Bama takes them. Although I wouldnt be surprised if they dont cover.

Yeah, if it's not us I most always pull for the upset. It would be fun to see Alabama fans go utterly apoplectic after putting themselves firmly back in the title discussion after beating UGA.
My gut tells me Bama will smoke them.
