I have heard Donovan but it seems that I remember him making like 3.3 mil on that report detailing a coaches bang for their buck. Why would Billy even consider it? Right now UF>UK.

But Kentucky basketball has pretty much unlimited resources. Even Donovan will have to give it a serious look.

I beg to differ on your last equation. What makes Florida a better program than UK right now? The two national championships? UK has 7.

The UK appearance in the NIT? Florida has two in a row?

Fan support? Florida had an announced crowd of 6500 in their game against Penn State the other night in Gainesville. UK had 4000 at theirs - in South Bend Indiana.

Facilities? I hear Donovan wants a new place to play but there isn't the interest. UK will announce plans for a new arena in the coming months.

They might have the tradition and support but so did Alabama and it still took 5 mil a year to get Saban there. I just don't see Donovan thinking that UK is his dream job and taking less money to go rebuild their program. It isn't even like he played there, he was just an assistant coach.

Meeks might come back but more than likely Patterson is gone. UF returns pretty much everybody and they were all young last year. Along with a better recruiting class.

What I'm saying goes for any coach. If a program like Kentucky is interested in you for the HC job, you have to consider it. We're talking one of the top 5 basketball programs of all time. If you can be successful there, with their money and support then...A successful coach at UK> being a successful coach pretty much anywhere (with the exception of UNC, Kansas..maybe Duke and Indiana). That's the key of course...You have to win.

...but since he said 'right now' I would think he's talking about right now, not your storied history. If you want to compare historical e-peens go talk to Bama and OM football fans...

I think Patterson is - at worst for UK - 50/50. And I don't know if I was a Florida fan, I would be thrilled about getting everybody back from THAT team.

Right now you are talking about one NIT team compared to another. And the coaches UK will be talking to will probably be looking at it a little more long term than next season.

was having to go up against Patino at Louisville. It wasn't an issue of being scared to compete, but that he has such a close relationship with Patino.

I don't think that is accurate.

I seem to remember reading that he did not want to play him every year and recruit against him every year because of the possible consequences regarding his "father/son" like relationship with Pitino. Of course, I can't find anything to back that up NOW. Perhaps it was just internet chatter...

I suspect we will soon find out that it was internet chatter.

but they will negotiate with his lawyer for an "appropriate settlement" that will be considerably less than 6 mil.

The School Prez said they were working off a Memorandum of Understanding which they interpret to be "year to year". I'm shocked they haven't settled on a number, because I'm sure BCG's lawyers will interpret it differently.

Donovan's and his family's ties to the Gainesville community than with any reluctance to compete against Pitino.

And if he doesn't come this time, it will probably be for the same reason.

But it also goes on to say that all of the above are the terms outlined for the formal contract which they would work to execute in the next 60 days.

He never signed a formal contract, so he doesnt get the payout.

How clueless you are.
Im not saying they will or wont honor it, because he may or may not choose to persue the issue.

But that is a signed legal document by both sides. It lays out exactly what will be agreed upon, and both sign it. Semantics is what makes the legal world turn, and this is a perfect example of hairs being split. The difference between letter of the law and spirit of the law. And you know who sorts that kinda **** out? Courts. And you know how little UK wants to drag this out?

Go 17 a fat Rowdie.
