last night they had Jessica Mendoza calling a Korean baseball game from her house in USA. Who in the hell wants to watch that while listening to her? Who?

It was mind-boggling how much more slack they gave Hill than they did John Kruk or Curt Schilling.

And while Jessica Mendoza is no Jennie Finch, she is still totally doable, I mean watchable.

It’s pissing me off that The Ringer is doing rewatch podcasts with her. I’d like to listen to some of these episodes but I just can’t.

So if you were running a sports network that depends upon advertising revenue from live content and that dried up overnight, you would turn away the first chance to at least minimally cut your losses? And not use a resource that you have under contract?

Actually, those are rhetorical questions. Because we all know what you would do - take the path that leads to the worst possible outcome.

Agree. The thing about Mendoza and baseball for me at least is she has the same amount of MLB experience that I do so why should I want to listen to her talk/analyze baseball? And yes, it is different game than softball where you have rise balls and the baserunning rules are a little bit different as far as taking leads and things like that. I feel the same way about John Kruk or any other MLB guy calling softball games too.

Mendoza is an attractive woman I agree.

It's a real live sport. It's about the best they could do. And Pine Grove is right.

Personally, I've been watching a lot of Bundesliga soccer this weekend, and it's been pretty good.

She knows more about hitting than anyone on this damn board. I've had the chance to be a part of some instruction with her and she absolutely knows hitting.

You 17ers would complain about any sports that is on right now. Mendoza ain't bad and who cares what country it is and what sport. Just enjoy that something that involves a ball and not 15 years old is on tv.

Never mind that she's been an All-American in softball and won a gold medal and a silver at the Olympics. But I'm sure that you know as much about baseball as she does. **

Just run last year's games/programming like it's a really long rain delay or something or run the greatest games of the last decade in the big sports. Korean baseball? Miss me with that **** bro. They have thousands of hours of amazing games on file. We could watch entire Masters tournaments, entire NCAA baseball & basketball tournaments (if CBS would lend it) that we can relive. I promise you more people would watch all of that than two random Korean baseball teams playing a live game in front of zero fans.

All joking aside anyone have an idea of how much money ESPN has lost over this pandemic? They gotta be hurting I would think.

I’m just curious. When was the last time you heard anything insightful by any announcer in any sport? It’s literally the same stuff spouted over and over again.

The absolute best thing I can hope for is Tony Romo noticing a trend in alignment of the defense and predicting the offensive play call.

I mean if they are there to tell personal stories about their time in the league I’d agree. But it’s not like it takes Derek Jeter to get up there and tell me they are going to bring in a left handed pitcher to face the next three left handed batters.

Ever hear John Smoltz call a baseball game?

You’re right. Coming here and bitching is a much better use of your time than watching Korean baseball.***

You know, Dawg61, you really are unbearable when you’re on the rag.

I've enjoyed catching an inning or 2 of Korean baseball myself. It's watchable, a few Americans playing, nobody really famous, but a some "oh yeah that guy"s like Aaron Altherr and Dan Straily. And Matt Williams manages a team.

I wish they could convince them to start a game a couple hours earlier, even just once or twice a week.

I don't know about that but I do know she has as much MLB experience as you so I'm sure I should take her takes as seriously as I do yours on the subject.

So you only watch telecasts announced by those with MLB experience? Cool.

Golf is great for a nap, they don't ever holler or scream and its soothing. Almost as good for naps as Bob Ross but not quite.

And double standards like that is the main reason I don't watch ESPN outside of the game being played or occasional specials like 30 for 30 or "The Last Dance". I used to love to watch SportsCenter until jackasses like Keith Oberman turned into a bleeding heart PC fest. Sports is something I used to love to escape politics until the Disney family of networks came along and ruined it.
