ESPN just said Mullen is #1 prospect for PSU.

Dan has been a bit of an enigma to me. I do not want him to leave before this current effort plays out. I know this year was disappointing, but the SEC west was overloaded this year with possibly the two best teams (definitely the best defenses) in College Football history.

So I hope this doesn't happen. We don't need to go into another rebuilding period already.

Who ever replaces him will inherit and program on the rise. New football facilities and a stadium expansion. Things are way better then they were when he came. I know he will leave one day and if it is now I'm glad it is now because of who are AD is. I think Ole Miss will have a hardertime finding a coach then us. They don't even have a AD basically.Stricklin will do good with the hire.

Now that Meyer is at OSU, having Mullen battle it out with his former boss would make for interesting story lines. I was a story line before, but lets be honest, the OSU vs PSU twist to it makes it a national interest.

He just won his league at LA Tech, almost beat both MSU and USM and beat UM about as bad as we did (granted that we quit trying to score 2 minutes into the 2nd half). However, it looks like Hud found out that Mullen was getting the Penn St. job and pulled his name out at UM because he knows he's Mullen's replacement at MSU.

If you are going, Do it quick so we can name someone (Hud) before recruiting gets heavy.

If you are a decent man, you'll do that or tell everyoe "Hell no I'm not going anywhere."

that he isn't going somewhere else...he says he "likes" it here and yada yada...so I don't think he is a liar and he won't state categorically that he will stay forever because he won't.

I think the search committee is going to be pressured by the big money donors to hire a PSU guy. Someone with ties to the program.

only at good ole' MSU could the actions of a pedophile a thousand miles away create a situation that would allow our coach to be a legitimate candidate at his supposed "dream job" school. As I stated yesterday, without this scandal Joe Pa (in the manner of Ron Polk I) hands the HC job off to one of his selected current assistants upon his retirement and that's that. HOWEVER, alas, the Indians are alive and well!

AT ANY TIME during Sandusky's tenure is damaged goods. That may not be fair, but it's true.

Dan has changed the way we think about our school and our football team he made us better now bring in Huds pay him well and let him build a good program someone who will not jump ship. If Dan wants to stay he needs to come out now and say Idon't want it take my name off it will help our recruiting a ton.

remember 3 years ago when chris petersen was heading to mississippi state? mullen's still our coach. everyone needs to relax. if he leaves, he leaves. stricklin will keep us in a good position to continue our current success if he does end up leaving.

Rivals has State has 11th in the SEC in average stars of our recruits, just ahead of Vandy, below Kentucky. Since Dan's last two classes have been the same, football is about to get a lot worse for us, maybe next year, but definitely in 2013 and beyond. You have to have good players. He would be crazy not to take the job. If he couldn't win in the SEC with the collection of talent he had this year, he is never going to get it done with recruting classes ranked 44th in the country (Rivals, currently) and 11th out of 12 in the SEC. Actually, it is 12 out of 14th, because Texas A&M is way ahead as well but we are ahead of Missouri. With recruiting in the mid-40s nationally, does Dan Mullen really think that he is going to ever be able to beat Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn, or LSU - and now Texas A&M? Given that he hasn't yet?
I've always said that we would be gone after this year if he had the opporutunity because the talent has reached its apex at MSU this year.
In two years, we will be bemoaning the shape that Dan Mullen left this program in recruiting wise. Or, perhaps more correctly, the uninformed fans will blame the new coach for the lack of wins without recognizing that it was because of the lack of talent left by Mullen.

This time you will not hold us hostage and get a nice new fat contract extension after the bowl game. <div>
</div><div>If you want to leave, leave now please and don't let the door hit you in the ***. </div><div>
</div><div>I think a lot of us feel the same after the 52-14 win against Michigan, and this 6-6 season. You are already in the top 15 highest paid football coaches in Division One. YOU'RE WELCOME.</div>

Dan go but I knew this day would come and he has been a stand up guy for us and I expect him to conduct himself in that same manner as he moves on. I wish him nothing but the best, hell I hate Penn State but I may have to start pulling for them now.
