They are repeating what the Columbus Dispatch put out this morning. I just checked and the CD has pulled that "story" off their website.
All it had was stuff already said here plus ONE statement that said some of the investigation "involved" Redmond's car. Nothing more, nothing less.
It has NEVER been reported that MSU bought anybody a car. It has NEVER been reported that any booster bought Redmond a car. Nobody has even made that accusation, including the NCAA. The NCAA asked questions about Redmond's car.
The CD gets wind of that and runs a carefully worded statement which has people believing and talking that MSU bought Redmond a car. WTF!!!
At least CD pulled the story. They better run a damn retraction and explain that they were wrong to publish the story in the first place.
Too bad ESPN is already running with it. I'll be impressed if MSU can stop that train.
EDIT: They didn't pull the story. Its still there, just not where I saw it earlier. I won't repost it. They don't deserve it. But they had exactly one statement using the word "involved" as I described. It is not an indictment of MSU at all. Its just intended that way to sell papers. Bastards.
