If I was on the UM sideline I would be just as mad at the kicker as I am of Moore. Logan blew an easy down the middle 35 yarder.

“ “That’s not who we are,” Matt Luke, Rebels coach, told reporters after the game, skirting the fact that it is only two years since an Ole Miss player was penalised for precisely the same thing.”. Glad this is being noted as well!!

Saw some Luke quote that basically said he got caught up in the moment. Yeah, right, that's everybody's first instinct when emotional, drop and pee. It was 100% planned out. Luke hugged Metcalf when he came off the field from doing that 2 years ago. They put the stupid NWO collar on this years glory boy on the sideline and celebrated like he was statue-worthy. And then they missed the kick and the narrative suddenly changed. They are Ole Miss.

I have no problem being a little irked that he missed the kick, but a teams job is to work together in order to give the execution of a play a better than average chance of succeeding. His team did just the opposite. So irked, yes, blaming the game on him? Oh hell no! Professional kickers miss PAT’s and 35 yard FG’s EVERY SINGLE SUNDAY. This is a 19-20 yr old in a rivalry game with 50k cowbells making the air vibrate. So there is nothing average about that play before a penalty. On top of making the attempt 79.8% longer he was basically iced by his idiot WR for 10 mins or so.

So the thought that the kicker deserves as much blame as the dubmass Moore is one of the most idiotic things I’ve ever read on SPS. One player put himself ahead of the team in the biggest moments of the game. One player did nothing of the sort. One player pissed away the efforts of his entire team, players that probably played hurt, players that got hurt playing. All the sacrifices that his team, the coaches, the administration, even the OM fans that toughed it out in hostile environment those sacrifices, the sweat and blood shed, meant less to him than his selfish desire to look cute. The other player simply missed a kick that in the exact situation NFL kickers probably only convert around 2/3’rds of the time with the game on the line in that atmosphere.
