That Mondays biggest loser wasn't UNC, bit Mississippi State. We fell out of the Bracetology tourney field as of now.

We better go at least 10-6 in the SEC or we will have to win the tourney to get in the big dance.

The average RPI of our 16 conference games remaining is #110.

The SEC rpis will continue to go up as they play against each other. UCLAs rpi will continue to go up and that will help us. 10-6 will put us at 22-9 going to Nashville. I se us going 7-1 at home with a loss to UK. UT will be a win if they have the losses to their players as expected. We'll probably drop one we shouldn't and go 6-2 at home. We MUST win at Arky and Auburn. I don't see us winning at Fla, Vandy or Ole Miss. USC in Columbia will be easier with 2 of their starters out.

Bama, LSU, AU, SC, Upig, and UGA all should be pretty damn bad. Teams in the East get an advantage of playing UK and UT twice to help their RPI, OM and MSU will get penalized for playing 3 teams twice that are terrible.

10 SEC wins may not get you in the tourney this year unless you have one maybe two SEC tourney wins.

A lot of people thought the SEC may be a bit stronger, instead it is just top heavy.

I still will be surprised if this MSU doesn't go 11-5. Too much talent.</p>

Hell, 9-7 and an SEC title only got us a #13 seed last year. And, if anything, the SEC is worse this year than it was last year (after the UT suspensions).

True, it will hurt the RPI, but on the flip side, it should aid both Ole Miss and MSU in trying to win an outright SEC title. We could share or take an outright title without being nearly as good as the East teams.

And I do think the SEC is better. Yes it's top heavy, but that's better than being not at all heavy last year. Our champion was an 8 seed last year, and we only had 3 teams in the dance.

the SEC is worse than last year. The conference was one title game upset from being a 2-bid league. We have a chance for 6 this year.

Screw Lunardi. Damn i am sick of his ****. He doesnt predict **** any better than many of us that follow college basketball closely.
Especially at this point, his seedings are wrong, his teams are wrong, etc etc. But the disclaimer is that his bracket is based off if the season ended now.
Well swell, thats so damn helpful. If the season ended before conference play even started, thats how the bracket would look.

Yep...pointless.

Man i wish that Momma's boy looking fool would go away. His bracket is a glorified poll, nothing more.

6? Get real. Very well could be a 2, 3, or 4 bid league. Everyone loves to throw the word "terrible league" around but what's truly terrible? There were only 2 teams in the league that finished with less than 7 conference wins. That's more like a mediocre conference with a bunch of mediocre teams beating up on each other. If that happens again you may be looking at 2 from the East and one from the West at most getting to the tourney.

Good point. Next you're going to tell me that every preseason poll is wrong.

It's a best guess, and it's for the fans. It gives you an idea where you stand. Lunardi's bracket isn't going to look exactly right, but it does give you a good idea of where everyone's resume would stand in the eyes of the NCAA today, and that's all he preaches to do. You can't tell if a team is going to tank and go 4-12 in conference play, so he's giving you the best guess throughout the season based on results to that point, the same thing that polls do.

I believe it's Lunardi that's been given insight into how the selection process works, and he does get paid to follow basketball, so I think his bracketology is probably more accurate than Average Joe basketball fan if it really were the end of the season today.

Lunardi had 6 in. 5 teams have already been ranked at one point or another, and 3 still are.
