Okay, I see Channel 744 for ESPNU on the guide now here in Jackson, but when I go to that channel, it says to call the number to get service. Other people have told me that they just get it. Which is it? Am I supposed to get it regardless, or do I have to sign up for the $5 Sports package?

I can get to ESPN360.com just fine, I found out yesterday. Just curious....

It's not supposed to be on the sports tier. I get it in Rankin on ch. 744. Also, NFL Network on ch 180 is in the clear now. However, NFL Network HD still gives me that same message you are talking about.

It is a different channel and in FL through comcast, but I have the same message on mine. I also get 360. I have Digital Starter, which I believe should be enough to get the channel. Maybe they just haven't flipped the switch yet?

I think ESPNU will be available in a day or so on the regular digital package. I know NFLN is as of this weekend.

You should be able to get 360 with the regular digital package. Check comcast.net for that.

Edit to say that 360 is now available if you have Comcast internet in Hattiesburg. Just go to espn360.com and download the player.

I'll have to listen to Jack on XM when we play Jackson State. So much for the ESPN contract...

It is now available on the digital package in Memphis. I have it and do not have any extra sports packages.

You should really try to hurry to clear things up. When I watched it for the first time a couple hours ago, they were showing replays of the Women's NCAA BBall tourney. I flipped it on just in time to see a UCONN player throw up a wide open airball from the baseline. Great stuff...

ESPNU is part of the digital preferred package in Jackson. If you were already subscribed to the digital preferred package, then you automatically got ESPNU with no further action on your part. If you are not subscribed to the digital preferred package, then you don't get ESPNU.

I have Memphis Comcast, and we got ours on the 31st. My only bet is that it's a different region so they will add it to Digital Preferred on a different date.

Because my Jackson channel lineup list from November 2008 says I should, but I don't.

Are you sure you aren't on digital starter or something? I get all that and I've never had the sports package.

....but the 700 channels I'm supposed to have, I don't have. I'm on hold waiting now.

After staying on hold for 35 minutes, I had to hang up because my phone battery was about to die. I had to call the regular number because the special number was busy.

Guess I'll try tomorrow.

....it appears that the DVR in the living room and the plain digital box in the bedroom both work fine; it's only the DVR in my office that it's not working on, and apparently none of the digital preferred channels are working on it.

Weird.

I live in Tupelo and have the Digital Preferred w/On Demand. The guy at Comcast said to get NFL Network, ESPNU, and ESPN360 I'd have to sign up for the sports package for an additional $5/month...mf'ers.

paying $60/mo with fees and taxes. To get ESPNU which is the only additional item I want, I have to get Digital Preferred plus $5 for the sports package. A special deal going for $45/mo for 6 months then $72 there after. So with $5 more and taxes and fees probably closer to $84-85 per month. I'm probably too big a tight wad to do it.

for $5 extra. That's what I am doing in Jackson. So it will be $60 + tax for digital starter with sports tier.

I have the $99 bundle (Digital Starter, DVR, HBO, Internet, Phone) + $5 Sports Tier = $105/month.

you get ESPNU? Is that the synopsis?

Apparently I have one box that none of the Digital Preferred stuff is working on, which of course was the only one I was trying it out with.
