Thanks for the interest Gladiatorfencepatrol - the Neck games will start being on the radio next week when the playoffs start- and streamed online.
All Essex games will be on, maybe Rapp and NHS sometimes depending on times and who survives.
I wish it was on too - I am down in NC. Just finished watching some college ball - about to destroy some Eastern NC Barbecue lol.
Essex is able to run the ball fairly easy. Scored 2 touchdowns on the ground and one in the air. Rapp is able to pass the ball.
Thanks for the info and the updates. Talking about that bbq is making me hungry. Nothing like that NC style bbq!!

Talk about an exciting, photo finish. This is also the last game of the regular season and will determine almost all the seeds. One final game. Not sure if I remember a game impacting so much, not too mention NND titles for three teams.

looks like one heck of a ballgame great job both programs.
Good game, felt like the refs interjected themselves in the game to much at the end. Not saying Rapp would have won but there were some horrible calls at the end.
28-20 Essex up. Rapp tackles Essex to make it 4th &1 on essex 35yd line (2 mins left in the 4th qtr)and the ball comes loose and Rapp jumps on it. Refs call the player down so a Rapp player yells it was a fumble (no cursing) and the ref throws a 15yd penalty bc he said he was tired of the talking. Then tack on 2 more 15yd penalties. Essex goes from 4th &1 at their 35yd line to 1st and 10 from Rapp 20. Crazy sequence

It was a shame that Rappahannock players/coaches sort of lost their composure on the fumble call. Chances are they get the ball back on a punt with around 2:00 to go. The turnover would have been nice, but you just can't give the refs a reason in that situation. Sucks it ended that way. I thought the Red Raiders had a shot to tie it if they git the ball back.....refs probably were a little quick with the flag, but the penalties were starting to be a problem for Rapp in the 4th qtr as they seemed to lose their discipline a little. Really well played game up until the last half of the 4th quarter.
From miles away just reading these comments and those of from this season, it really sounds like two evenly matched teams. Different approaches maybe but two solid teams. Good luck to all as the second season starts.
Essex is the most physical team in the nnd but yet they are still considered a finesse team if they want to make a run deep in the playoffs they have to start running north and south and leave the sweeps alone
Essex's win gives the NND a three way tie for district champ.
Northumberland, Rappahannock, and Essex at 4-1. It has been quite some time since the Raiders or the Indians even had a share of the district title. Well done - ain't easy being in the top three in NND (except for some).

Sounds like it was a good game. Wish it wasnt 3+ hours away would love to have been there. Looks like Region A playoffs going to have some exciting games. Good luck to all the teams in the playoffs and those teams that didnt make the playoffs work hard over the offseason.
Essex also had a 50 or so yard td run by KJ Dameron called back for holding with around 7 min remaining in the 3rd. That killed a good chance to go up 26, 27 or 28 to 14.
And how many block in the back/holding calls did the refs ignore vs. Rapp? I didn't care who won one way or the other, but I agree that this was a poor officiating crew to send to a game of this magnitude. And the Dameron TD run that got called back was more like 65 yards
