Very evenly matched. Essex defense did a great job after KQ had 1st and goal on the 1 and didn't score. KQ dodged a bullet when the long Essex TD was called back. The one pass completion that KQ had was for around 55 yards, so I think they will need to mix that in more to open up the run game a little more. Should be an interesting 2nd half
Essex 28 King and Queen 16 Final. KQ gers a safety late.. Congratulations to Essex on winning the Region 1A Championship. Tough game for me as a fan as I'm friends with coaches on both sides and have friends on both sides too. I will not be surprised if these two meet again next year in this same game. Essex returns their two studs in Harris and Robinson and King and Queen returns virtually their entire team. Good luck to Essex next week against Riverheads. Lastly, prayers lifted for KQ RB Kam Berry who left the game in the 3rd quarter with an apparent knee injury. Such a great player and kid and I hope it's nothing serious. Also QB Malik Holmes left late as well with an undisclosed injury, so prayers for him as well.
Those special teams plays I feel killed KQ and by watching the live feed KQ offense just couldn’t get going. Shout out to the coaches and players for king and Queen on another great season nothing to hold their heads down on that was a great game. Also, Congratulations to Essex and good luck against Riverheads ..
Definitely is hard when you give up 2 special teams TDs, but Essex gave up one as well. I felt that both defenses played well, but the Essex defense played a little better.
Yes, just 3 years ago, KQ was in the midst of a 29 game losing streak, now they've had an 8-3 season in 2019 and now back to back regional championship appearances.
