Ive heard alot of talk about how our receivers are average and some say not good at all so I thought I would see how our future wide receivers rank up against the '09 class. This class is suppose to be the wide receiver class so in mullen's 4th year he should be drawing some high profile receivers for the future. From what I see so far the only difference to me is size while were still out there on some receivers this class looks to be around the same as the '09 class except for the major size difference. If we close the deal on rumph or smith obviously things change but thats a stretch for those two. What are yalls perception on this class of recievers for the future.

it's all about what you want them to do in your system. I think ideally Dan wants to continue to run the ball well which should open up some single coverage on the outside so we want some height there to win some jumpballs. I think we're meeting the need there with some big receivers that the '09 class didn't have. With Tubby and holloway set for slot duties next year that's not as much a priority.

I like the taller guys because that generally means they're better athletes.....

....and that's what I want at the WR position. A fast guy who can catch and also make a play after the catch. While Bumphis isn't tall, I'll take him all day long because he makes plays. Heavens and Sanders don't seem to have made quite as many plays as Bumphis and Smith. Sanders has another year though I believe.

I'm not sure if it's WR play or QB play or just complete improvement from the Croom Error, but it seems like those guys have done some good things over the years.
