Evan Mitchell seemed to find something there in the 2nd inning...

Did you guys notice how once he took a little off his fastball, he began locating it better, and the same with his breaking pitch. Instead if bouncing it up there, he began throwing it for strikes as well. Mitchell is capable of throwing 95, but I would rather him throw 90 with control. Glad to see him figure that out, now let's see if he sticks with it. I doubt he has a spot in the weekend rotation come SEC play unless he gets these control issues figured out. What do you think?

I think he's throwing himself out of the weekend rotation.

He's got the stuff to be dominant, but his command is so spotty that you just can't keep him in an SEC weekend rotation. Lindgren, Cox, Woodruff, Graveman should be our weekend options right now. Let whoever out of that four that doesn't pitch weekends pitch on Tuesdays and let Evan Mitchell come out of the bullpen on weekends.

Now this also could be a cold weather thing because he just doesn't plain doesn't have it. Some pitchers don't care what the temp is and Lindgren dominated in the cold last night. But right now I say Mitchell is going to be the odd man out once we get into SEC play and are only pitching 3 starters a weekend.

I agree his problem is not challanging the hitters nit picks at the corners

way to much. no way he is a weekend starter at this point.

Other than Lindgren, I'm not sure who should be the starters for the SEC

rotation. I'd say Woodruff if he's healthy but that third spot is open and I'm not sure who I'd give it to at this point (Cox, Graveman or Mitchell).

I think our best rotation is Lindgren, Woodruff, and Cox.

However, I don't see Cohen leaving Graveman out of the weekend rotation after pitching it all last year and being so good. I still am not sure he's 100%, but if he's good to go it's hard to keep him out. If Woody is healthy enough for the weekend, I think he will get the Sunday spot and Cox and Mitchell will be the ones left out. Then Cox gets the Tuesday duty.

You know what, thanks lasher but im just going to purchase the hailstate package. I plan on doing my part this year, for my dogs. This is just step one. I suggest we all start stepping our games up. I will be in Houston, also.
