I think he might've fallen forward for the first down if tackled. Good thing that didn't happen, not sure we'd have gotten a favorable spot.
Checking to see if he stepped out of bounds was laughable. I don't know if that was just the announcers filling air or if replay/refs really thought he did.

As hard as he was running, had the defender made the right move on him I think he would've muscled his way to a first down. He was not going to be denied.

The refs were actually checking the clock. If you notice, the clock never started on the play. The refs went to the replay monitor to check and see how much time should be on the clock. They set it to 43 seconds after the review.
I think they were at a loss as for what could possibly be reviewed on the play. I was yelling at the screen that the clock never started.
If he had been tackled at the 5, we would not have scored - ZERO chance
It was more them than us. Look at the timing of the penalties they committed and what happened on those plays. Their last two drives with the lead were killed by penalties and both of those plays were first down runs.
UPIG was clearly more committed to losing that game than MSU.
Guy was going to make a play there no matter which way he turned. He wanted it. They didn't. Player made a play. Enjoy it.
