Everyone forgets the near miss blocked punt effort....

we were literally an inch from blocking their punt when we were flagged for running into the punter. We were maybe twelve inches from throwing two long TD passes to wide open receivers. Bumphis was open on the first and goal call and we did not execute the play...a perfect throw was needed but it could have worked. The plays were there for us to make and we didn't. It is that simple.

Okay, we were close. But the real serious problem is that the defense held USC to 14 points, so we should have won by 10 or more. It doesn't matter that we almost had our chances to win, MSU should have won in a rout.

the Bulldogs should win the game. That is what is so frustrating right now. Last year's offense would have put 28 points or more on the board against that USC defense. Heck, the Anthony Dixon and TTM offense from 2009 would have scored 17 points. I am not jumping off the Dan Mullen wagon at all. Having said that, I never dreamed a Dan Mullen Bulldog offense would suck this mightily. Lots of problems, huge problems on an offense that returned every important skill player from 2010. The difference is the complete and total ineptitude on the offensive line. Those guys have been nothing short of pathetic.

The offense that showed up for the last 3 games of the season (Ark., UMiss, Michigan). Last year's offense only managed 10 points against Florida and Bama, 14 against Auburn, and 7 against LSU. I'm not so sure they would have scored 28 against a USC defense that is actually pretty good, but I think we should expect that out of our offense in the 3rd season of running the spread.

Agree and its probably the 1st time I've believed a coach when he came on the postgame show and said "we're not far from where we want to be".
