We are not switching from Adidas. That is in concrete straight from the person making the decisions.
Well, Nike and Under Armor have sales associates that are Rebel grads that are "hard" to deal with in negotiations with Mississippi State. That's a main reason why we are with Adidas. Adidas has also mentioned in marketing us as one of their premier college baseball programs for apparel. At the national coaches convention in Dallas this year, they had large displays of Mississippi State apparel around the vendors. It was cool to see that.
It's time to tell Adidas to royally 17 off...I understand they're giving A&M our leftovers this time, but still it's like they think we're the same 17ing university

Adidas gives us one of the better deals in the country. In order to switch to nike or under armour, those 2 companies would need to put in a bid, which they wont. So, it is Adidas.
Like I said, this comes right from the top in our athletic department. Some of us don't get ALL of our info form the message boards.
I wasn't happy about bringing in another team with the same colors in the first place. It's all about the money though. It's obvious Adidas needs to hire someone like Chillbilly who has some vision and creativity and can design a uniform that differs by more than just a shoulder stripe. However, it seems the Athletic Dept. lacks these same qualities - they appear to be happy with whatever Adidas decides to show us. On another note, the Adidas fan apparel is pretty piss poor too. Most of that crap looks like knock-off SeanJohn or Ecko (sp?) crap. The M&M and Vanilla Ice clothing line is not a good look for me.
I used to love the level of discussion on this board. It's gone to **** lately because it's cool to talk **** and be negative. So if our athletic director told some people exactly what I typed, would that be me being full of ****?
This is just pure fiction. We do not have one of the "better deals in the country" and all companies submit bids when our contracts are up. We choose who we wear, not the other way around. Where do you people come up with this stuff? Nike hates us because of Jackie... That's just retarded... Under Armour hates us for some random reason... Ridiculous... These companies are in the revenue business. Not in the pettey fandom business.

Just curious.....do the head honchos not mind the similar unis to A&M? I imagine their come back would be they prefer the higher revenue from addias. Which is understandable, but I can't understand why we cant suggest making us look a little different? Surely addias would listen.
If you've heard it from the top, then I'll defer to you on the matter... But if that is in fact the case, then we have some major unaddressed issues.

Yes it is. I can't imagine why both our AD and Texas A&M's AD haven't raised holy hell with them about it either. It's understandable that some teams with the same company will have similar uniforms. But it would be a whole lot more acceptable if either MSU or A&M were given uniforms similar to Tennessee than each other. At least they're in the other division and have different colors. When you have two schools who wear the same colors and play each other every year in every sport, you simply have to have more differentiation between the two than we've had under Addidas. It's not that hard to do.
NIKE also has at least one sales associate who is a MSU grad. The things you people believe.

Can we not just rework our contract with adidas and put in a clause that the university can submit the design of the uniform. Then stricklan could open it up to fan submissions and the players could vote on what their favorites are?

It's a conspiracy. Ole Miss has placed MAJOR players in both Nike and Under Armor in an effort to keep us down.
Depends on what kind of "gifts" are being passed out. LT was rumored to do quite well "on the side" in the AD business.
Just remember, many of today's posters are far too young to remember Tha KANG!!!!! and the fact that we were a Nike school with JWS. It was the HNIC that made us a ******* Russell Athletic School for god's sake! Addidas in the world of apparell is parallel to Nike in my opinion.
