Everyone take a deep breath and relax about Sidney.

Damn you would think he was the second coming of Eric Stevens or something. I agree that he looked like a fat, out of shape slob last night but I am not going into hysterics over an exhibition game. Frankly I don't care if he puts up 25ppg and 12 rpg because all that matters is winning not whether or not dude is an NBA draft pick. We just need him to be a decent inside threat to get Bost and Ravern open outside.
Sidney will get better as the season goes on and if he can give us a steady 14ppg and 10 rpg then we will be a tough team to deal with when everyone gets back on the court.

I personally worry more about the rebounds than points from him.We need rebounding badly on this team, and he has to be the one to step up and control the paint. Ravern will score, Benock is getting his, and Bryant is starting to come around. If Sidney can give us 10 and 10 every night, we will be in good shape. I would just prefer from a guy who has been doing P90x for the last 2 months to be able to put out more than 15 minutes against Belhaven. I figured he would give us at least 25 minutes last night. </p>

Thing1(ravern) and Thing2(kodi_) will become MAJOR distractions for Stansbury...

If you thought last year was a soap opera, get ready... we now have 4 pre madonnas getting ready to hit the floor on Jan 8th...
the boys on the team have named themselves DeeNardo Johnson...

wonder how Thing2 feels about that.

Call me unrealistic, i guess.
I play with guys who played in the paint on NAIA and D3 programs...i really really really figured a McD AA would be better, even if they sit out for a year and a half.

Whether intentional or not, it never gets old.

been practicing since October with the team and that's the shape he's in?
What is he doing when everyone else is doing conditioning. Mix in a suicide or some cardio some time.
Either he is being allowed to not really participate in conditioning drills or he was way way the hell out of shape before season started

I don't get it. None of our guys were even born before "Like A Virgin" came out.

Stans calls him the Burger Queen..... He is still a kid, if he had eaten bananas and drank enough fluids I think we would have seen a different player last night.
Worst case scenario is that he comes back next year. The RSS is talented, if you can't see that then your and idiot.
I still think he averages a double double this season and about 30 mins per game.
Time will tell.

and resources MSU has put into his "situation", he'd better deliver better than he did last night. Extremely disappointed in his conditioning. His points and things will come, I believe. But no excuse for him being so out of shape. He could not even put in a good 5 minute stretch last night.... Speaks to his personal character and motivation more than anything else.

However, plenty of more games to come. Just not starting out well.....

Back when I was Sidney's age I could play for 6 hours straight at the Tin Gym. I did not train, do P90X, or do anything other than play basketball 3 or 4 days a week. You do not have to be an Olympic decathalete to play basketball for 10 minutes. I am not going to give up on him so soon but it makes you wonder if he has been playing ball on anything other than a Playstation.
