Look out for WVU if they win out....UL has no shot really unless Clemson loses...not taking 2 ACC teams

So 11-1 WVU team which is currently 14th in the CFP would have only 1 win over a Top 20 team would jump Louisville now at 5th also at 11-1...the Big XII doesn't have a Title Game

Maybe Louisville will just lose to Houston and end the debate.

That is a real possibility. I hope we can pull out the win. I am not one to say we are gonna blow anyone out, because you never know. I just want a win. If we lose, its been a great ride and we got a ton of great press from this season and it has helped build our brand. Hopefully we can continue winning and at least keep our name in the discussion. I will be more than happy with an Orange Bowl and a Heisman trophy this year. I hope we can pull that off.

The Houston players have already said tomorrow night is their Super Bowl and they are still a very talented ball club....expect a dog fight tomorrow night

I don't think it is so much about wanting to be #5, I just think Public Enemy just believe we are about where we should be. While I still think UofL needs more chaos to get in the playoff. I am pretty sure the teams below us would much rather be in the #5 spot right now.
Doubtful considering a few of them can easily jump you with winning out. Your teams only Real
Shot of making it is if Clemson loses. While always possible, it isn't all that likely. But if being #5 is good enough for you and a moral victory suffices then you aren't the football powerhouse your fan base so desperately claims to be.

No....more like exceeding expectations entering 2016...on 16 August 2016 you would told us that Louisville would be 9-1...Consensus Top 5 with the Heisman Frontrunner on 16 November 2016 it all good...nobody would have to thought that...

Yea, forgive me, I forgot everyone wants to be the first team out and playing in a consolation game. Also knowing they will likely get jumped by teams ranked below them if those 4 don't make it.

It like this...123 School would trade places with us on 16 November 2016...including you...

So if the roles were reversed and UK was in UofL's spot are you going to tell me you wouldn't be happy with being #5 ? Of course I want the Cards to be higher in the rankings but we didn't get the job done at Clemson and that isn't no ones fault but our own. However there are still plenty of positives for UofL to get out of the season. One we are #3 in the AP and Coaches Polls, UofL has never been that high before with a loss. We have the front runner for the Heisman Trophy. We have several other players up for National Awarfs. We have finished 7-1 in the ACC after finishing 5-3 the last two years. Unless we blow the last two games we are looking at going to our 3rd major bowl in 10 years. Not to mention since the FSU win UofL has had its name mention in the playoffs.

You can call it mora victories all you want but there are plenty of teams that would love to be in our spot.

Not at all! We would already played the best team in the country this year and took a pretty good beating. Have at it if you want. If strippergate hasn't embarrassed your school enough maybe getting beat down on national television by the likes of Alabama will. As you, or one of your brethren have already pointed out, l'ville struggles with the run. In the off chance you do actually get enough of a shake up and manage to make the playoff, you'll be in as the 4, which places you against Bama in the semi-final. They will run the ball down the field at will against you. I would actually enjoy watching it. Anytime I get to see Louisville players stampeded, by an SEC school no less, is a great day for me.

Getting steam rolled by Bama is something that has happened to a lot of teams since Saban has been there. I listen to SiriusXM pretty much all day long and a lot of the host and co-host on there shows have all said while unlikely that they would love to UofL and Lamar Jackson go up against Bama's defense since their defense has struggled with a running QB in the past.

Yes, I can tell you I wouldn't want UK To be #5 let alone top 25. We Suck!!! While we are better then we have been we still suck. If we were top #5 or 25 that would mean college football must be way way down this year, and it's already pretty down, which might explain why you've been able to get to #5 in the first place. I've got no problem with it to be honest. I find it rather amusing you're ranked that high and almost assured to skipped over by other teams ranked lower in the event someone ahead of you gets knocked out. It's amusing hearing their fans whine and complain about it.

Lamar Jackson has never faced a defense like Alabama and likely doesn't want to anytime soon. With weeks to prepare for him leading up to the semifinals, they would crush that points spirit quick. I think he's a great player, without him you all aren't **** to be honest, but Alabama is another level all together. He would probably still have some nice plays, but one wrong move and they would likely break him in half.

Possibly b/c WVU has a game with Oklahoma this week (not sure who they have next week) which would give them one more quality win than UL has. Also, FSU losing to UF (not likely but possible) would also be a disaster for UL as their only quality win gets that much worse.

Just don't see them jumping from 14 to 4...now Wisconsin or even Penn State is different...very apparent the committee loves the B1G

Meanwhile, we will actually be #1 come Monday. So I'll enjoy actually being recognized for that instead of #5!

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize Clemson and Alabama were the same team!

Lamar has already faced 3 Top 25 Defenses....and torched everyone one of them ...and Bama as Ole Miss has shown can be scored on and really the defense I'm more worried about is Michigan...they're better than Alabama....

Well, that's your prerogative, but it's not unprecedented.

I know UL people are up in arms, but the committee has been fairly consistent. It's all about quality wins and UL (like always) has very very few quality wins during this golden age of UL football. In the end, you'll have teams like Ohio State (quality wins over Wisconsin, Oklahoma, and potentially Michigan), Michigan (quality wins over Wisconsin and Colorado and PSU), and Wisconsin (quality wins over LSU, Nebraska, potentially PSU in the BIG title game) that will simply have better resumes than the Cards.

I said on this board and on the Louisville board....5th is very fair...can't put us above the Top 4 right now due to schedule

No...we just think we are a Top 5 Team in 2016 and on course for a 3rd BCS/NYD Six Bowl...nothing more nothing less
But are you really a top 5 team if all the other teams can move over you even if you win out? I mean, wouldn't a real top 5 get into the playoff if one of the current playoff teams loses? Just seams odd to
Be a top 5, but not get actual benefit of being top 5, kind of seems like you're just being given that to save face by the committee. I guess that's good enough for a card fan.

So it's kind of like the NIT in basketball? You aren't good enough to make it to the real thing so they give you a consolation bowl to make you feel

Right with 3 weeks to go...one spot out...let it play out...but we are going to a Big Bowl worse case and in a position that 123 schools want to be including 13 SEC Schools...every school in the SEC not named Alabama

Doubtful. Most teams would either want to be in the top 4 or a long way out so they don't look the losers sitting in bubble, that are going to get skipped over. You seem to have the obsession with being #5, when several of the schools ranked behind you have a much better chance of being in the playoffs. What good is being #5 then? Would you be good with being #69 in basketball?

Top 4 on December 4th...it is 16 November...we just take care of our business...but it was very nice watching the talking heads talk about our program on the World Wide Leader...we are one of the 6 programs today that have a path to the CFP....I'm done with this conversation...enjoy the game tomorrow

Yeah it sucks to be right there and still need help to break in. However you can't tell me most UK fans wouldn't give their left nut to be in the spot UofL is right now.

I can't speak for all, but I like both mine and would rather keep them. Especially when we are talking about 5th place. We are just trying to have a winning season and get to a bowl period. I don't think most Realistic UK fans are worrying about being top 5, 10 or 20 at this point.

I'm a UL fan.

It's really cool to be #5.

It also sucks big time.

We have nobody to blame for our predicament but ourselves.

We might still make the playoffs but I doubt it. Our only realistic hope absent another weekend of total chaos is Clemson losing.

Being #5 is awesome. Sure, #1-#4 is better and as a fan you hope for that. But I'll take a NY6 Bowl, a Top 5 ranking, and a Heisman winner as "good enough" to use your words. I hope we have more "good enough" seasons.
