Saturday was my first time inside Tad Smith Coliseum and sorry you rebels on here, but that place is a dump. It really is as dark inside there as it looks on tv. My wife is like 5'3" and knees even hit the seats in front of us, luckily the seat in front of me was open so I had to put my feet in it. And for some reason, I don't know if they had sewage problems Saturday or something in there, but every once in awhile it smelled like sewage, as in ****. The bathroom doors have a window on them and you have to go down a flight of stairs just to stand in water while you piss in one of those open urninals. Overall it was a lot worse than I even expected.</p>

I don't think that smell was coming from the rest rooms. It's kind of like the corn dog smell in Baton Rough but rather then the corn dog smell it's the **** smell in Oxford.

I have been there once and it wasn't too bad. It had a nice atmosphere.

I do agree about the bathrooms. I also didn't understand the parking (of course, I don't know the campus so that it may have been my fault).

My first thought was, "this place is a dump. Why can't we have it in their new coliseum?" If only I knew.

Are you sure one of our cups from Scott Field wasn't stuck under your seat?

Just sayin'........

We KNOW that place is a dump. I think that is the main reason Kennedy pushed for a new IPF. It could eventually turn to building a new coliseum but the only way to do that would be to knock down Crap Smith. I've been going in there a couple of years now and never had a problem with the bathrooms or anything even though I never understood going "underground" to take a leak. But I guess for you to get anything in Oxford, you gotta prove you deserve it first. As for the time being, they decided painting the roof and new screens around the arena would suffice. Whatever....

My wife went to Ole Miss so I have spent quite a bit of time there. The parking on the ENTIRE CAMPUS is miserable, ask anyone that went there and they'll agree. Especially in the last 5 years or so. This has a lot to do with the school's attendance growing and the University not being prepared. Hell, last year they had to stuff 3 people in some of the corner rooms of stockard martin (those are 2 person dorms rooms btw). But, they are building new housing complexes and what not now.
The thing that would serve them best is running a shuttle system like we do during the day. I heard that they actually do that now after they bought extra shuttles during the election (i'm not sure, this is just what I heard. But their shuttle system isn't University owned or it wasn't)

There has been some parking added recently, but not too long ago they decided they wanted to make the central part of the campus a "walking campus". So, they started an initiative to eliminate a lot of the pass through roads and some of the parking on the interior of the campus.

Going to class was awful. If your first class of the day started at 10 or later, you were basically relegated to walking 10 minutes. Granted, from what I hear, that's better than some campuses. I had a family friend that went to Texas, and she said that her apartment was a 30 minute walk from campus, and it was considered a prime location to be able to walk that "short" of a distance to campus for class.
