Did anyone see the Stansbury show last night. Of course it's senior night for AU... who has 6 seniors. It is the their final game in that coliseum. They are inviting ALL the former coaches and players for it.So therewill be ALOT of emotion going for them...and acoach trying to save his job on top of that. Prob be lots of home cooking in this one boys.

plus, at bare minimum, 1 win in the SECT. And that may not even get us in. The pessimist in me and the reasons you listed are why I think we get our asses handed to us Wednesday night. Their record doesn't indicate it, but AU has some shooters. They can score. I expect the emotions of the night to feed their shots Wednesday - at least in the 1st half. Combine that with us likely having UT on the brain and you have the perfect storm for an unexpected a$$ kicking. We are going to have to bring our A game or we are coming back with our most lopsided loss of this year.

ETA: The pessimist in me thought we were going to lose to SC by 10 last Saturday with Downey scoring 30+. Fortunately, I'm often a dubmass.

I thought we would beat S Carolina because of the way we matched up with them , and also liked the way we handed it to them the previous two times we had played . With Auburn , If we can hold Tay Waller under 20 , I think we might have a chance . Hope I'm wrong, but I saying Auburn 69 Dogs 63.

Waller + Hargrove + senior night + last game in the coliseum = Bulldog loss

We may lose this game but it will not be because of the atmosphere. If all of the former players and coaches go to the game they may have around 500 people there (sarcasm on). They have already played Bama and spring football is right around the corner......they careth not. Winning on the road against USC was much more difficult than this will be. That's not to say that it's a guaranteed because we tend to lay eggs against AU. I think the atmosphere will play against us just because it is always so dead in that coliseum and we are obviously a team that feeds off the crowd (pro or con).

apparently I am the only one thinks the emotion of fighting for our tournament lives will outweigh the emotions of senior night and playing their last night in a stadium with no history.

We will struggle with Auburn because they match up well against us. If we lose, which is a strong possibility given the way they played against us in recent years, it will be because they will make a lot of threes and we won't. It will have nothing to do with it being their last game in their old irrelevant stadium

There's nothing better than whipping a man's *** in front of his friends and family.

doesnt giving a rats *** about basketball, but does Tay Waller not make you a little nervous? He went for 32 the last time we played them away, and he went for 26 his last outing vs LSU. If he shoots well, they are very hard to beat .

have better players overall and if our coach prepares us properly we should win. But that also applies to road games at Bama and Ark (which we lost).<div>
</div><div>If we can weather the storm after first 10 minutes it's an even game. </div>

If you can't beat Auburn when this much is on the line, is it really going to be that much fun to sneak in as a 13 seed and get waxed on national tv again?.

AU is not a "basketball school" but they will be out in force simply because of it being the last game in the facility and the historical players that have come through the program will draw 1/2 the crowd alone.

Some of our fans are way too scary for me.

We should be planning to make their senior night and last game in their building a miserable experience.

We shouldn't go into this contest afraid. Our attitude should be to grab them by the throat and kick them in the *** from the opening tip. Crowd be damned.

If they win, then they win. But, they will have won a war.

That's the way I see it. Take the fight to them.

First, we should be super inspired to play this game period, really wanting to hurt some feelings and make it look easy doing it. Second, it really helps the SEC if 5 teams are in the tourney, not to mention that OM has a shot of making it also. I think the SEC office would really "want" the Western division champs to make the tourney with the all time shot blocker having his way in the paint. I just think that we show up big, because the guys know that if they win out that they are in the tourney. I also think RS is emphasizing that point to them at every opportunity. I also think that if we win Wednesday, that Saturday is going to electric at the Hump.

The problem with that coliseum is that it doesnt really matter how many people are there, its just a dead place. Even if they pack it out, it will not be a loud place. That is why they are spending millions to make a SMALLER new venue. I doubt too many big names will be there. I don't see them luring Barkley from Vegas to come and watch some geezer shoot the last shot. I say they pack in about 7000. The make-up will be as follows: 15% crazy nerd/rowdy/bsu types, 10% frat rats who get lost going to skybar, 70% geriatrics who want to see Whitey McWhiterton who was an all-SEC center back in 1962 and went on to an illustrious career with the Minneapolis Lakers, and 5% sorority girls who need the "points".
