Ex-Rutgers QB Steve Shimko to Georgia staff as an offensive GA, coming from a position on the Western Michigan staff. Nice.

"--Steve Shimko. Offensive graduate assistant. Served as director of player personnel at Western Michigan last year. He played quarterback at Rutgers and later served as player development coach there."

This is a good opportunity for him. Richt is one of the better QB coaches in the game.

Agreed! My question is how the hell did he catch the eye of Richt? He should've been brought back here i can think of a name or 2 i'd like for him to replace as support staff.

We all love Rutgers. But working at Georgia with roughly the same job/position, you'd have to pick the Dawgs for your resume/experience. Is there any limit what a program can pay "support" staff? If not, then you know the Dawgs have deeper pockets.

In their young careers, i would love to see our former players bounce around and gain some experience and insight under different coaching regimes. Then come back to RU.

Good for Steve

Yes I bumped this,
Steve is considered a candidate for the TE coaching position that just opened up.
So hopefully he will return to RU for the 2024 season
