You really nailed the write up Edgy. If you have 6:33 left in the state championship and everyone knows one guy is getting the ball with a 6 point lead to protect, who do you want holding the ball, every time?
I am glad we got to play Libertyville in the finals because it forced me to watch every Lville game they played this year. While watching those games, I actually caught myself with goosebumps seeing Lees run the ball. He is an athlete of the highest order and will likely become a Jordan Westerkamp kind of play maker at the next level. You guys may kill me because I didn't see JW in action, but if you watch Lees in all 14 games, he makes moves you just don't see in high school football. I can't wait to watch him at Northwestern. I am sure he will be successful in life knowing he has that old man and big brother looking out for him.
JLove may be starring in the National Championship game within the next five years and become a lock down NFL CB in the years after that. Watching his 10 minute junior year highlight film is to understand what a game breaking athlete looks like. I can't wait until his senior year film....I would imagine those to be a treat even more so.
Thanks to all you knuckleheads that put up with my nitpicking and jousting. You guys, some of you, are a blast. I will hold my subscription over the winter to ensure I keep up with you fellow football junkies. I will hope that the public /private thing doesn't drive me to an early grave as it seems to seep into every thread on the board. I look forward to hearing and seeing more about IKM this year as he ascends to the throne handed to him by JLove.
And finally, I will miss high school football. The NFL has become a hollow shell of what it once was and the college game seems hyper focused on one topic and everything else doesn't matter. Give me high school football. For me, there is nothing better than a Saturday afternoon at Duchon field...unless it's been raining , or snowing, or cloudy, or....
