Why not in the mean time just put a bigger set of end zone bleachers in and sell more Top Dog tickets. Will add at least 2000 tickets.

I think the size works out about right. I can't find anything official regarding how many seats that expansion holds, but I would guess around 5 - 7k, including the suites. It replaced an older set of bleachers which held roughly 6k. I think a ~63kish capacity would put us at a good size for where we are now. As much as I'd like to hope that our program is going to garner enough excitement to merit a 70k+ stadium, I just don't see it happening any time soon. I hope I'm wrong though.

Looking at the picture on here earlier today, the one facing the south endzone, the Seal M-Club looks so small and out of place. We need to tear this building down and build something that runs from grandstand to grandstand, that is brick (similar to Barnes and Noble Building), to make it look more to scale under the jumbotron. We could add some club level seating on the top of this building, or even suites. Just would look much nicer. Plus, im sure Leo's family would like to see a nicer more imposing building.
The biggest thing I remember about the endzone bleachers of 86 was during the Alabama game. The bleachers were split with enough room for the teams run through. The bleachers were full of Gumps. So, our team ran out of the dressing room and were greeted by a bleacher full of pom-pom waving Gumps. Sucked.
From up there it's not so bad, actually it's a pretty good view.

The reason that we are so far from the field, is there, used to be a track around the field (multi purpose facility).
Sort of like our QB situation, we have what we have, and I don't see us starting from scratch anytime soon.

What we need is something that will look nice and add alot of club seats and maybe suites and a few bleachers. I'm taking about this:
But I think we should do that and finally extend the west upper deck at the same time. It just annoys me that we have that stub lookin upper deck on that side and a normal one on the other.
What Clemson did is not big enough for us, IMO. Not that I'm saying we have people banging on the door for tickets every game but in a year or more from now I expect that we will, so adding only a few thousand more seats like Clemson did would do nothing for us in the long run. This needs to be something that puts our capacity at just under 70,000. That would be a very impressive number and the size would look great. I like the size of Arkansas' but not the multi-level deck look. Put simply, look at Oklahoma State's new endzone. That is exactly what we need. Not to mention, there is nothing that says "we're serious about our football program" more than building something incredible like this.
As a Clemson season ticket holder, I will tell you that the Clemson endzone expansion was a huge waste of money. Sure it's aesthetically pleasing and nice for the club level seats, but they spent $35-40 mm for something that doesn't generate near the revenue to support the cost. They basically put club level seating in without the revenue from skyboxes (for which there is plenty of demand). I've discussed this with a large donor/builder and he thought the design was idiotic.
I don't have a pic, but VaTech has something similar to Arkansas. The Arkansas endzone would be the ideal combination of seating, premium seating, skyboxes, etc. It would maximize revenue and the stadium atmosphere.

just club level seating. When the Clemson "expansion" was built, it actually lowered the seating capacity of the stadium.
No upper deck. Flatten it out like USM and allow fans to walk around up top. It allows for more people to get in to watch the game and provides a big area for people to bring their hiper children to run off some steam, and a possibilitiy of picnic tables to sit back and eat etc (great place for the womenfolk).
I had not seen how the Southern expansion ended up until you mentioned that. I do like that concept, however, with the idea that we were talking about I feel it would be too high up to do that. Viewing angles would be awful unless you were right up on the rail. Their stadium has that level much lower. And you can see much better. But that is a good concept to stick in somehwere, similar to the coke deck at Turner field with crap for kids to do. Plus you can sell more naming rights and what not
UPig's south endzone started out with nothing on top of their luxury boxes. But they added bleachers for some odd reason. I guess just to have more seats. It looks really strange to look up and see those things on top of a structure that large. Looks LTish.

I really think if we did one arkansas should be the model. Someone mentioned earlier that we only need like a 63,000 seating capacity so we should build it like clemson. There are two problems with that. 1.)Clemson has a gigantic stadium without the endzones...we don't so they didnt have to worry about just making a smaller endzone 2.) Yea maybe we would only need 63,000 right now but noone is saying to do the expansion right now. What happens if we do an expensive expansion like clemson's that only barely increases our capacity to 63,000 when we could fill maybe 7,000 more than that then we're stuck with that
However looking toward the future, I like the idea of closing the north end and having suites at the top of it that could connect the east and west sides. This could be easily removed if it came to expanding upwards in the north end. Also make a new locker room facility for us, so we can enter through our students. On the south end, how about a connecting walkway located just below the Dawgzillatron and span from the east to west stands, with stands underneath that can be discounted tickets since you can't see the big screen. It will allow us to utilize that space.
