Popular opinion says he's laid down the law and the slackers and Prima Donnas are jumping ship looking for an easier coach

or

Ray maybe coming off as a total hard *** and even our better attitudes aren't will buy what he's selling

or....................................................

I mean, Hood is gone. Nobody Brooks recruited has a chance in hell of signing. Why the F is he there?

Or, that Bury's ball team was a 2 deep of walking vaginas. I don't think it has to do anything with the level of workouts with Ray as much as it has to do with the fact that Coach Pushover and his clown assistants are gone.

but I also wanna blv that Ray (under command from SS) told them in the initial meetings there's a new sheriff in town and things are gonna change. I can imagine a few saying, "17 this....I'm not gonna be doing X, Y, and Z when we just lost our best player (s)"

if he had kept Grant, we would have a staff with no ties to MS. While MS hasn't been good to us, its not something you want to abandon. I think it was a smart move.

In honor of the one they all try to imitate... since he has an auto bid every year.

and maybe eventually some of it will come out through the rumor mill, but especially for guys like Steele and Lewis who should be close to graduating, the decision to trasfer would tell me that they have been deficient in the classroom and have no desire to work hard on and off the court under Ray.

And I can't imagine that many programs were more lenient that Stans' so they may be in for a rude awakening most places. And like others have said, attendance and going hard in workouts are pretty much expected in football/baseball so all that's happening speaks volumes about the attitude the entire program had.

Right now I just hope we can get enough players to field a team. I have never seen a wholesale implosion of a team like I have this one. I am not even sure Baylor was this bad after the one player killed the other one. I know that was when we got Roberts but I don't know who else transferred but I am betting it was not this bad.

Following the plan set in football this will take about 4 years to clean up the program and will have a solid coach in place..so drink the kool aid till then. Next up we hear Ray is a good coach even though we continue to pile up the losses. Remember its Sherrill's Stansbury's fault for leaving us with bad character players.

I think Brooks now has one year to prove his worth on the recruiting trail with his supposed MS ties. I always saw Grant along side Stansbury in the pictures when they were out recruiting. Lets hope George is better at recruiting and coaching than he was at actually playing basketball

fact that Ray has ties to college basketball and has been associated with it. How long had it been since crooms was involved in college football, on a coaching level?15 years?

To be honest I was more excited when I heard Croom was going to bring the Packers offense to Starkville then when I heard Ray was an asistant for Painter and at Clemson. The players will play hard and tough but in the end the coach will get outcoached and just not have enough talent at the key positions is how this is looking to play out. I am trying to drink the kool aid but right now its tasting the same when Croom was here.

Apparently his "loyalty" to the new regime [i.e., his strong desire to draw a paycheck] was rewarded.
