Free Market Capitalism. If the Cowboys want to earn more money, they should get more eyeballs on their product.***

BARSTOOL ARTICLE
Some estimates, and it's really hard to find the numbers in 3 minutes of googling, say that the Cowboys sold around 250k jerseys last year. If that's true, it is simply insane that she sold more in just a week. But, it's probably true.

Wait, if Barstool cant be trusted to provide us accurate news, how are we supposed to know what social issue related to sports we should be outraged about next?
Seriously though- I cant believe someone works at Barstool and actually wrote that 'article' with the red highlighted comments.

I don't think I've ever seen a single WNBA jersey, ever. How could just 1 players outsell EVERY Dallas jersey? Complete BS. And, who wears them supposedly?

While this seems incredibly unlikely, it'd be great news for the WNBA if true. With jersey sales like this, maybe it's a step towards the league being able to actually operate off of its own revenue and fan interest. Probably not, but maybe

When I read the phrase "Indiana Fever" I thought it was some kind of slogan as in "I got Indiana Fever! Catch it!" Or something like that. Now I see it's the name of the team. Learn something every day. Not a knock on the team. I just had no idea.

According to Fanatics, that statement is false

What's more discouraging is the number of "journalists" that seem to have just ran with the story without verifying if what Weiss said was true.
They got Dicked.

Fanatics is building a huge warehouse and distribution center on land owned by Jerry Jones in Waxahachie, so they dare not speak ill of their landlord. Conflict of interest. Unreliable source***

Maybe during a 15 minute interval. But even that might be a stretch.

250K Cowboys jerseys in one year sounds low. I mean, if they're just talking about the authentic game style jerseys, then maybe. But if you include the cheaper clothing that just looks like a jersey, it can't be right.

And if it's just authentic jerseys, then it's not a fair comparison because basketball jerseys are a lot cheaper.

She may have outsold the Cowboys for 1 week. The week she was the #1 pick. In the NFL offseason before the draft. I expect the Cowboy's #1 pick will surpass her the week after the draft.

Right.

This is why I am always skeptical about statistics from social media . . . and major news outlets.

Often, the quoted stats are only a "half-truth" or are outright manipulated to promote agendas.
