Lebby must have read my posts because he finally addressed it in the post game. Click the link to the top and right of this thread. Can someone, anyone, explain why freshman nobody Billy Puckett played a whole game, when there was true, game-tested talent sitting on the bench? This kids dad a big booster or something?

Can make a rule that you can’t join this board until you have 17 posts?
Just need to head over to the Heisman board. Can make a rule that you can’t join this board until you have 17 posts?
It looked like to me the coaches didn’t expect to win and the team fed off of it.His stats were not bad. I understand Lebby slowing the game down but seems like they moved the ball up the field when they went fast. Just could not get into the endzone. The defense looked more mentally out of the game than the offense. Maybe with both KT and Fluff out it got into their heads. Bye week sometimes hurt you mentally. You don't play well.
It’s not false. I mean Swann and Rashada have both played. Not that playing them was the right decision.Dear Lowered… we have made the decision to call the 3rd string qb at MSU a game-tested talent.
Truly we have crossed the rubicon.
His stats were bad. Just posted in another thread his rating was 92.9. That’s beyond awful. His stats were not bad. They did move the ball. When they went fast. He had a 61.5% completion. Considering the situation, his first start, in tiger stadium, and started running back out I think he did better than I thought he would. I don't think he made a whole of bad decisions. The O line let him down on many occasions. They should have scored a few times. I thought he would look worse than he did. If Fluff was in the game I think his rating would have been better. I also thought there would have been a few more interceptions with a some pick six.His stats were bad. Just posted in another thread his rating was 92.9. That’s beyond awful.

The honest assessment that’s been obvious for 2 weeks now is that both Taylor & Bothwell are going to be very limited for at least most of the rest of the season at best. Not ideal. Can we also get an honest assessment of the injury situation going forward? We're not fooling anyone or getting a game planning advantage with the secrecy so might as well let the fans know what to expect.
Is that honest or pessimistic? I really have no idea. The honest assessment that’s been obvious for 2 weeks now is that both Taylor & Bothwell are going to be very limited for at least most of the rest of the season at best. Not ideal.
Heck it may be optimistic. The injuries they’re both rumored to have take a long time to recover from.Is that honest or pessimistic? I really have no idea.
Which, aGAIN, begs the ultimate question…..what did Lebby see in him to bring him here in the first place? Why is he wasting space in our locker room, film room, and team cafeteria if he is THAT bad? And ditto for Rashada. They weren’t good. But it was his first start and it was in Death Valley against LSU.
You really should take a look at what Swann did when he played against teams with a pulse if you think 93 is “beyond awful”…

Check out his stats against the only two solid teams he started against last season (JMU & Boise). He did really pump up that rating against the Charlottes and Lindenwoods of the world though.
I’m not arguing that Puckett is a good option, just that it’s not obvious to me that he’s not the best 2nd option we’ve got unfortunately.
You can complain, but if you don’t donate your opinion doesn’t matter because you are part of the problem. How dare yall talk negative about our program, talk negative about our head coach, talk bad about the product on the field. Some clown will be here shortly to tell yall not allowed to talk negative in any shape form or fashion about our program because you dont donate.
?? I didn’t watch. But On ESPN stats it looks like we moved down the field one drive all game? His stats were not bad. I’m with you. This cloak and dagger stuff is not giving us an advantage. Can we also get an honest assessment of the injury situation going forward? We're not fooling anyone or getting a game planning advantage with the secrecy so might as well let the fans know what to expect.
We moved it some between the 30s after the game was out of hand & lsu defense was playing soft. But we had 290 yards of offense.?? I didn’t watch. But On ESPN stats it looks like we moved down the field one drive all game?
It's my experience that the ones who question what I give are ones who don't buy tickets or go to games, and give way less than I do.You can complain, but if you don’t donate your opinion doesn’t matter because you are part of the problem.
When you do that you won't get anyone decent to come in. Not without a huge payment. Even then not many people want to do that.
KT is absolutely not transferring if we bring in a legit G5 or FCS starter as a backup. That’s nonsense. Especially with the narrative of his lifetime MSU fandom.Howe you don't do that and KT probably transfers last year.
That’s more of an OL issue than a QB issue.Doesn't matter though if Lebby can't keep a qb healthy. Every qb he has had misses games.

You simply can’t have a plan to go into the season with a freshmen walk-on as your only viable backup at the most important position on the field. It’s a straight up fireable offense all by itself. Coaching malpractice.
Lol. Comments weren’t really directed towards you specifically. Just open discussion.I’m real clear on how you feel about Lebby, in case there was any doubt in your mind.

If the money is right nobody is fully loyally these days.Except for that narrative is shot to hell, because we found not one but TWO quarterbacks in the portal, gave both scholarships, and gave at least one one of them a good chunk of NIL money. Puckett was on the roster last year, so it’s not like Lebby didn’t already know what he could do.
He simply is clueless at identifying talent that could help us, or, perhaps worse…..he knew both of them sucked but knew he still had to do something to make it at least look like he knew what he was doing. That’s the scary part.
