I have an honest question. Are the officials (including replay) aftaid of getting sued in the future? This is only going to get more ridiculous going forward.

Football sucks anymore. I can hardly watch the NFL anymore and college is getting as bad. Start taking out their knees

I am sure the lawyers will go after anybody and everybody. Hell, I go through all the required training for coaching midget, and have every practice where we teach tackling taped. I have kept every bit of it. This makes me want to totally give up.

I can understand missing the call as it happened on the field - it's a "bang-bang" thing...but to have the freakin' replay official fail to overturn the call is absurd. Complete failure by the replay booth.

Actually a good point. Have to wonder if that's in some back room discussions because that call was complete crap. If this one makes them rethink that whole thought process and they change the rule somehow, then it will be worth it. Doubt it will happen but something has to change this offseason!!!

I am sticking with he is scared of being sued in the future. Lawyers are by-in-large pieces of crap. They will do anything for a dollar.

The refs aren't worried about being sued. They might be worried about keeping their jobs since their employers are definitely at risk. As for a single official or incident - pretty hard to tie a neurodegenerative disease which probably won't be fully understood in our lifetimes to it. Further, throwing a flag, after the fact, has no impact on whether impact causes neurologic damage. Absolutely impossible for refs to be implicated in this.

After all my complaining... I will take another corner on the field vs. UCLA. Their open-field tackling can't be much worse.
