Could have won the NC except for some youngster named Jordan. So why can’t this team take it that far? Fab Five played against older players too, albeit not 24. Can’t really state Fab Five was more talented because we don’t know what we have until we see the team in action. So why not? I’m going glass half full for now.

I’ll take the Jordan part out of it as you’re 10 years off with that. While they did start 5 freshman, they also had 4 juniors off the bench who average more than 10mpg and a bunch of starts the prior year.

Our issue is not the freshman, our issue is a bench and seasoned help.

The Fab Five also came in with a core of Juniors and Seniors that had won a NC in 1989. They also struggled pretty bad during the regular season. Yeah they got it together and made a huge run in year 1 and they were a great team but if it had been just them, they wouldn’t have done anything.

So you think Michigans Fab Five played against Michael Jordan??

What the hell are you talking about? Jordan?

This is one of the dumbest sentences ever written here.

It's one thing to have a timeline be off by a year or two, but by more than a decade? Good Lord.
OP making like Keyser Soze.

Because of Xs and Os and coaching acumen. Both pre-game prep work and in game adjustments.
And there's plenty more differences than just that.

That MIchigan team actually returned most of their starters and at least eight scholarship players from the year before. So they had both a ton of returning experience PLUS the Fab 5 (yet still struggled for most of the regular season).

Whereas we return nearly nothing ...just two sophomores that rode the end of the bench last season.

1-3 against IU during the Webber years.

They were a solid top 5 Big Ten team though.

Their big man Riley was maybe first or second team all Big Ten the season before the Fab 5 arrived and then shuffled to the bench.

Don't know how much run their upperclassman got with Glen Rice and crew.

The fab five in their own right came into college built like men. This isnt the fab five. Reclassification and recruits going to g league has watered freshman classes down. That’s why there’s such a huge disparity. The talent isn’t indicative of Cals early oad classes

Congrats. I recognized my faux pas. But this is typical of this board. It’s easy to denigrate behind a keyboard. Speaks to character. That’s your problem and those who are unfortunately exposed to you regularly. Not mine pal.

Dude, you wouldn't be taking all this heat if you were just a little bit off ...but to miss by THAT much was practically begging for us to mock you.

Jordan's title was in 82. The Fab Five were together in 92/93. It's not even in the same friggin era.

The Fab Five was infinitely better in the frontcourt. We might have a better backcourt. More dynamic, anyway.

You can't start a thread and not know what you are talking about. Simple.

This is the 2nd funniest thing to ever grace the rivals websites. Only the time that dude got busted claiming that internet model was his wife was funnier.

It's ok, OP. We all take one on the chin at some point or another. Im just glad we didn't give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.

So you think we have 5 freshmen with the talent of the Fab Five, I will believe that when I see it.
