What upgrades would you like to see next to our athletic facilities? (The stadium thread got me thinking what our priority should be next.) Personally, I think the Hump seems outdated and maybe time for a brand new one.

I would like to see the floor in the Hump dug out about 15 more feet to clear all of the native bones out and relocate them. And then we could make seating right on top of the sidelines to make it impossible for the opposing team to think. Cut seating by about 3000 down to 7800. Make the entire upper deck suites all the way around with concessions and restrooms built in behind them. Aww heck! Just build a new one.

An outside renovation of the Hump is also badly needed, the place looks older than it actually is. I'd also change the look of the Palmeiro Center, it's faded out and just looks cheap. Of course an indoor football center and new field house at DWS that could be the first phase of the South endzone project. So only about $350-400 million worth of improvements is all.....

Pull up the bleachers and put in chairbacks. I hate bleachers. I always have to sit with my shoulders twisted or leaning forward because someone’s temporary chairback is partially in my seat, or the people that arrived earlier are spread out too far.

I'd like to upgrade the number of wins for our football team and our men's basketball team . . . preferably winning at least 75% of all games.

1) Try to fit skyboxes on west side of stadium. Not sure how doable that is, but if it's doable, that's low hanging fruit to get more premium seating, which is what's in demand now.
2) Demo MClub and replace it with an on campus hotel with bowl seating incorporated. Alternatively, make it a "condotel", with some condos set up like sky boxes and some hotel rooms.
3) Chairback everything in lower bowl except student and band sections.
4) Add skyboxes to Hump (like the west side of Davis Wade, not sure how feasible this is with existing structure).
5) Add GA seating to Dudy. Doesn't have to be a ton, and understand not wanting cheap looking bleachers that are going to be empty for most games, but I think we need some GA seating. If they were really worried about aesthetics, they could even do removable seating or retractable seating that is only available on SEC weekends. If they did it retractable, when it's pulled in it could show the MSU logo on it or something.

Unfortunately it’s not always that easy. Most older stadiums like DWS don’t have enough seating row depth to accommodate chairbacks. If you want chairbacks it might require tear down/rebuild.

Hump is the easy one. It's got to be upgraded, but not expanded. Do it like Ole Miss or Auburn. It's obvious we aren't a basketball school so let's stop pretending.
